I am a big believer in soul mates but I also know how to just have fun in the here and now. :)
I'm ertive, interested in the world around me (and fictional worlds to boot!), and I love a long, ambling discussion. I'm attentive once I've opened up, and find myself to be particularly loyal once I've made an attachment.
If I'm honest, I'm mostly comfortable with my own company, or with just one or two other people. I'm not into big parties, or crowds. I'm also a woman who needs her space - I don't like living in someone's pocket. However, please don't take this as me not liking doing anything - I am constantly busy, just not with the usual 'clubs and bars' scenes. I love museums, art galleries, the theatre...I enjoy just hanging out with someone and having long conversations where we put the world to rights. I love seeing things off the beaten tracks. I like the unusual, the macabre, folklore, boys with tattoos, my doggie, secrets...
I have a dry sense of humour, I'm open-minded, and I have a healthy interest in sex. I'm open to new experiences, and I'd try anything twice (the second time to be sure the first feeling was the correct one!).
My ideal partner would have a strong sense of self, at least one pion they felt they couldn't do without, and a few quirks. I love a powerful mind, and a deep imagination. Creative pursuits are welcome. The ability to make me laugh is a must, and my ideal partner would be able to switch between being serious, and having an almost childlike sense of fun. I don't consider age a barrier, so don't be shy, even if you think we are a few years apart.
I should probably point out that I'm a writer, so therefore a word geek. I have a tendency to walk around getting annoyed at the lack of punctuation in the world, and sometimes I talk outloud to the characters in my head. Don't worry, this is perfectly normal. :)
I'm not a skinny chick either, though I'm pretty fit. I realised how much I love exercise about a year ago and now I run a fair bit on the treadmill, lift weights, and do yoga. I'm a work in progress - dropped three dress sizes already! ;)
I should add, to make this easier for all concerned: if you want, or have children, then move on. Childfree zone here.
I’m really good at:
Writing, reading, English, being imaginative, having quirky conversations, watching blood and guts movies, cooking blue steak, computers...
Books: Lolita, Great Expectations, Harry Potter, King Lear, To Kill a Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye, Unwind, Battle Royale.
Movies: Harry Potter, Battle Royale, Dirty Dancing, The Hills Have Eyes, Brokeback Mountain, Point Break
Music: Sigur Ros, Tokio Hotel, Linkin Park, Evanescence, clical music, some pop, some heavy metal, rock...I have something of everything on my iPod - Frank Sinatra through to Cheryl Cole, taking a detour through Metallica, Coldplay, and Eminem
Food: Coffee, vodka, blue steak, fresh tuna, spices, chocolate.
The six things I could never do without:
A pen and a notebook (counts as one!), coffee, literature, my iPad, my dog, my brain
I spend a lot of time thinking about:
I think about everything: who I am, where I have come from, where I am going, the world around me, the "big" questions, the "little" questions, the why, the where, the how, the why not?
On a typical Friday night I am:
Probably being a big geek and doing something everyone else will sneer at. I'm not a big drinker, and I don't usually go in for the bar or club scene. That's not to say I don't do it, just maybe not as much as I used to.
