I just looked at all your photos and I don't think there is anything misleading at all.

There's a thematic consistency to the whole set, and I do think it says some things about you, about who you are.

I mean, I have seen profiles with 18 pics, and not a single one is of the person. I don't think we need a hard and fast rule or anything -- "9 out of 18 should have you in them" -- because, frankly, that's too restrictive and would stifle some people's creativity. At the same time, I think it helps if there are a couple of "real" ones there, just for perspective if nothing else.

There have been people who say things like "I hate it when I look at somebody's profile and there's a picture of a cat," but if you like cats and they're important to you, why shouldn't you have cat pictures? It's a part of your life. I had a picture of a paramecium on my profile for while, and I don't even like them that much. I just thought it was an interesting picture.

On some level, I look at it like any picture you put in the profile tells me something about you, because there's some reason -- and sometimes it may be frivolous or goofy or just to make a statement -- you chose to put it there. That decision tells me something. I may not always know WHAT, but I can figure it out, or trick you into telling me somehow.

As with most people, I see more of who you are in what you write than in the pics. What you write is more "internal," while pics are inherently "external" (unless you post X-rays or something, which gives me an idea), so, once you get to the stage of your life where a solely "external" appeal gets either boring or deceptive or both, the intellect, the words, become a lot more meaningful and significant.
