Topic: INSECURITIES in New Relationships | |
---|---|
Hi xxxtobyxxx, this is my first time here but I'd like to share, yeah,i've been there before where i had a big crush on this person, but we never get past the online relationship, just chat rooms, there's closeness alright but like i said, we're just doing it online. I often try to convince that person to meet me face to face like a date or just hanging out but it ended up that person giving me excuses, that lead to misunderstanding and i had to gave up on that.So i look up on the web, that out in this world there are people who actually enjoy just online relationship, to answer your question whether they are insecure when you try to get close to them, yes they do,just to let you know, that you are not in the wrong, that you didn't coming on to them too close or too fast, just you and them don't agree on a same page. There are people out there who's doing online relationship with the same aim as you to have a genuine relationship with others, not all is bad but you gotta keep trying to find them.

To me they are just e-mails if they choose to quit chatting then the conversation either is not going where they want to, they are busy or who knows. My self I don't worry about it when it is only chatting...
Not really any feelings into it for chatting is not a relationship.. Who knows I'm sure they are chatting with more then one and maybe they found one that they are interested more.. As far as being insure over whether I get a e-mail or not heck no I have other things to worry about then if someone e-mails me.. Like life and those I see in person.. |

The person you are writing to always mails right back, now all of a sudden they are not answering. Is something wrong?. Why can't they give a time they will be able to hang out and chat. When they do not respond does it make you feel insecure or? You then start imagining flaws in their mail and personalities and think ..maybe I have scared them off with contacting them too often, or getting too close? Has anyone dealt with a situation like this and how do you combat your feelings. Love to hear your replies. Great topic.. I go threw the whole gambit.. If we are exchanging e-mails rather quickly and all of a sudden they start to slow down.. My head will start to race... here is a look at the scenario's...... *They are losing interest *They may be chatting with someone else *WTH is she doing? She is gonna P*$$ me off *This is no way to start a relationship * Fine, I'm going to wait an extra 4 minuets before I reply Welcome to technology I guess.. I miss the old face to face type meetings on a spur of the moment type thing.. Thanks for the Topic.. It's good to get this stuff out |

Maybe there IS something wrong and they have a serious real life issue theyre dealing with.

>insert TMommy's post here< There is NOTHING that screams "whackjob" louder than a serial texter or emailer....

What has helped me combat feelings of insecurity is changing my expectation of emailers. I am now at a point where I NEVER assume that I am the only woman that a guy is pursuing . I usually assume that I am one of 2 or more women being pursued SIMULTANEOUSLY . If the man's interest wanes in me, I assume its because the other woman/ women had more chemistry with the guy than I did , or maybe those women gave the man or scammer what I wasnt giving, whether that be cyber sex or money or commitment for a relationship after a few measely weeks. I also assume that the majority of men will never announce to me that they will be cutting off communication. They will just magically disappear into the cyber vortex of poor matches. It doesnt phase me at all. By the way, I also have the same expectation of OFFLINE DATING. Whether , I am dating online or offline, all I have control over is being the best me that I can be , and if someone rejects that , then obviously we are not a good fit for each other. Thats an issue of incompatability. Its nothing personal.. Its like a job application in a way . Get past the multitude of rejection letters as quickly as possible to get to that one important YES. |

Hmm.. it happens to all of us ..but you get used to it... sure sure the first time it happens it's a bit off-putting...
You're emailing each other regularly you think things are going good.... Things are even getting a little hot and heavy... she asked for a nude picture.. I hesitate!! but then give in.. I send her a picture of myself ,when I was 3 years old taking a bath.. And then poof. . She stop sending me emails... for the life of me!. I can't figure out what happened... why did she stop emailing me..hmmm.. perhaps I should have sent a picture of myself when I was 6 years old and taking a shower.. some people are just so picky ..lol.. |

I had an instance where I was chatting with this really nice woman who lives in town. We've only been communicating via email. I don't want to pressure her for her cell phone number, even though we've been using email for about a few weeks now. In the mornings I would usually send her a good morning email to let her know I was thinking about her. She likes that. And I tell her good night as well. Little things like that to let her know I'm thinking about her.
Suddenly about a week ago, I stopped hearing from her. I got a bit concerned and had no other way of contacting her. So I gave it a few days and then sent her another email, and still nothing. A week goes by and finally I got an email from her. She had some issues going on at work and it was stressing her out. She basically said that she was so stressed that she more or less unplugged herself from the virtual world and the real world by withdrawing in to herself (her words). I replied back to her with a reassuring email and said that I understood what she was doing but told her I was getting concerned. With no other way of contacting her, I felt sort of helpless. I put myself in her position and realized I would probably do the same thing. We haven't met in person yet. I don't want to put too much pressure on her. She told me she works in the accounting department at the largest car dealership in town and she stays quite busy managing the books. So, I told her early on that I'm cool with taking things real slow. And when the time comes that we meet for coffee or lunch and things don't work out, we'll always remain as friends. |

My girlfriends and I grew up with a saying:
"NEVER wait for the phone to ring." I have never waited for the phone to ring. If I expect it to and it does not, I am off to do something, and no I would not contact first, after. On the other hand I would always follow through on MY end, if I say I will call I will call. Waiting takes much learned patience. |
