I look at the bloody nub that used to be the hand I extended to you-
Mangled beyond recognition and thrown back in my face-
My faith in humanity has been shattered and the loving nurturing side to me that Ive managed to hold on to since childhood has been crushed and held with such high disregard.
To you I am a joke, a pathetic farse to be mocked.
My shell is cold and dazed. Many things I have been able to over come, to shake off and move ahead. This pain is far worse than any Ive known.
Maybe you were this person all along but my blind love for you and faith in all you could achieve distorted my view of who you really were.
This view is no longer avoidable, your raving tantrum shook me to my core. I can no longer see you innocently and all we "were"
is now a lie. All you meant to me is questionable.
The wreckage of what you left behind is unrecognizeable and I am never going to be the same.
I often sit and wonder why do people become so distant and uncaring...Why their walls are so high and sturdy-
Now I think I know the answer and I found out the hard way.
I never thought it possible to feel like such a fool.
But it is possible and some people just cant be helped. They are in their own prisons, sabatoging any one or anything that dares come too close to breaking thru their defenses.
Collateral damage...as they move on- never looking back

Sometimes the things we see wihtin another is blinded by the love we have for them. Later to find out it was alwas there we just could not see it through our rose colored glasses we wore

We keep extending our hands in hopes it will not get bitten each time, our faith and belief in humanity makes us do this, not all will bite the hand that is extended. Excellent piece GEL You know this hand will always be extended towards you and I know it will never get bitten in return and I know your hand is extended to me and I will never bite your hand.

You are absolutely right- I dont not intent to become hard. We are all human and have flaws.True love means being able to overlook those flaws in each other and forgive. Not focusing
on the past but moving on to the future and not keeping a scorecard...
As they say "time heals all wounds" there may be scars but I look at it as a lesson of things I do not want to ever do to others.
