well, that's one possibility, that for two years NOT one out of all the minority actors actresses and directors working in the field did work that was worthy of an award,,,or nomination, You said it yourself...its a possibility....maybe black actors have sucked the past teo years. You dont get recognition for the color of your skin.
and another is that they didn't even get considered because of implicit racism Nah....FRICKIN LIBERAL AS HELL HOLLYWOOD isnt gonna do that....Now, if you wanna imply that its a ploy where they came together and hatched this bs for publicity, Id buy that.
BET AWARD for best new artist 2014 was Sam smith
BET AWARD for best group in 2013 was Macklemore The African American Actors who have won Academy Awards (Oscars) 1. 1939 Hattie McDaniel for Gone With the Wind Best Supporting Actress 2. 1963 Sidney Poitier for Lilies of the Field Best Actor 3. 1982 Louis Gossett, Jr. for An Officer and a Gentlemen Best Supporting Actor 4. 1989 Denzel Washington for Glory Best Supporting Actor 5. 1990 Whoopi Goldberg for Ghost Best Supporting Actress 6. 1996 Cuba Gooding, Jr. for Jerry Maguire Best Supporting Actor 7. 2001 Denzel Washington for Training Day Best Actor 8. 2001 Halle Berry for Monster's Ball Best Actress 9. 2004 Jamie Foxx for Ray Best Actor 10. 2004 Morgan Freeman for Million Dollar Baby Best Supporting Actor 11. 2006 Forest Whitaker for The Last King of Scotland Best Actor 12. 2006 Jennifer Hudson for Dreamgirls Best Supporting Actress 13. 2009 Mo'Nique for Precious Best Supporting Actress And nominees: 1948 Ethel Waters for Pinky 1954 Dorothy Dandridge for Carmen Jones 1959 Juanita Moore for Imitation of Life 1967 Beah Richards for Guess Who's Coming to Dinner 1969 Rupert Crosse for The Reivers 1970 James Earl Jones for The Great White Hope 1972 Paul Winfield for Sounder 1972 Cicely Tyson for Sounder 1972 Diana Ross for Lady Sings the Blues 1974 Diahann Carroll for Claudine 1981 Howard Rollins for Ragtime 1983 Alfre Woodard for Cross Creek 1984 Adolph Caesar for A Soldier's Story 1985 Oprah Winfrey for The Color Purple 1985 Margaret Avery for The Color Purple 1986 Dexter Gordon for Round Midnight 1992 Jaye Davidson for The Crying Game 1993 Laurence Fishburne for What's Love Got to Do With It 1993 Angela Bassett for What's Love Got to Do With It 1994 Samuel L. Jackson for Pulp Fiction 1996 Marianne Jean-Baptiste for Secrets & Lies 1999 Michael Clarke for The Green Mile 2001 Will Smith for Ali (and 2006 for The Pursuit of Happiness) 2002 Queen Latifah for Chicago 2003 Djimon Hounsou for In America (and 2006 for Blood Diamond) 2004 Don Cheadle for Hotel Rwanda 2004 Sophie Okonedo for Hotel Rwanda 2005 Terrence Howard for Hustle & Flow 2006 Eddie Murphy for Dreamgirls 2007 Ruby Dee for American Gangster 2008 Viola Davis for Doubt 2008 Taraji Henson for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Btw, no one really gives two $hits about the BET Awards anyway. TBH, I dont care about the Oscars....but any port in the promote racism storm, right? as stated before Miss Dash hasn't a clue and her statements were false and absurd,,, I never mentioned Ms Dash....but since you did, she fine.
that was a lot of cut and paste for nothing really awards happen EVERY year,,,its been 7 since the last award or nomination,, according to the above list and yes, miss dash was graced/blessed with beauty,, who knows where she might be if she didn't at least have that,, cause Im not sure what else she does have,,, |

that was a lot of cut and paste for nothing
Nah...it was worth it...I destroyed every racist point you tried to make.
really awards happen EVERY year,,,its been 7 since
So? Maybe the black actors and directors should get better at playing the Oscar "game"....because, really, thats all it is.
the last award or nomination,, according to the above list Again, in this age of Social Justice extremism, youre suggesting Hollywood purposefully left off people because theyre black and yes, miss dash was graced/blessed with
Oh I get it, shes an Aunt Tomette that doesnt tow the black company line.....SO predictable and shameful.
beauty,, who knows where she might be if she didn't at least have that,, cause Im not sure what else she does have,,, Feel free to spin away....your racism is blatant to all but you. |
|
|
|
nothing was destroyed with names and dates that don't refute my point
Im not suggesting whether anything was 'intentional' or not, there is something called 'implicit' which is quite different from 'intentional', though the outcome is the same I also don't use juvenile terms like tom or tomette, and stated exactly what I meant Ms Dash, does not appear to have any skills , acting or intellectual that would account for her 'success' in the world,, there are plenty of people like that in all races but being born 'beautiful' or 'wealthy' can often make up for all other shortcomings,,, |

here's an idea.. lets just give everyone an Oscar, since the blacks seem to think it's just a participation award, not a deserved award... they can just have them at the doors, so when anyone walks into the place, they just hand them an Oscar... that way, everyone is happy, and will smith can have one on his fireplace mantle to show everyone what a great actor he is...

Ice Cube RIPS black Oscar boycott – “We don’t do movies for the industry. We do movies for the fans” Actor/Rapper Ice Cube joined the Graham Norton Show on Friday and had a really strong opinion about the Black Oscar Boycott of Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith, Spike Lee and Quincy Jones. As the producer of “Straight Outta Compton,” he also spoke about his N.W.A biopic’s exclusion from the Academy’s best picture category Norton asked Cube if was going to attend the Feb. 28 ceremony, he responded, “I never used to go anyway. You can’t boycott something you never went to.” In the best picture category, Cube said that being upset about the situation was like “crying about not having enough icing on your cake,” when addressing how the Academy failed to recognize his film for best original screenplay. “We don’t do movies for the industry. We do movies for the fans, for the people,” he said. “If the industry gives you a trophy or not, or pats you on the back or not, it’s nice, but it’s not something you should dwell on.” He added, “We got accolades from all levels. We got so much praise for the movie.” I love his attitude! He cares about the art – NOT about awards from peers! GOOD! That is EXACTLY how it should be! Ice Cube has exactly the attitude that all these actors should have. Are you in performance arts for the awards or because you love it? Who decides if a movie is good or not? Art is subjective anyway. There is a bigger issue going on concerning people’s lives in Flint, MI and I have heard neither Will, Jada or Spike mention this AMERICAN tragedy. You want support for acceptance/ You want support for recognition/acknowledgment from an academy that has failed to do so for decades but you as showing NO support for the people that are fans who have supported your movies, etc. Who should be more outraged?............... |

Oscar-Winning Producer Denounces "Spoiled Brats" Crying "Racism" by Paul Bond 1/22/2016 7:00am PST "As far as Michael Moore is concerned, he is a socialist always looking to insert his brand of racist hatred. Spike Lee — haven't I heard this from him before?" says 'Schindler's List' producer Gerald Molen. Gerald Molen, a voting member of the Academy who earned a best picture Oscar for producing Schindler's List, has some very choice words for the "spoiled brats" who are crying racism over the lack of diversity in the nominations this time around. "There is no racism except for those who create an issue. That is the worst kind. Using such an ugly way of complaining," Molen told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday. So far, Spike Lee, Michael Moore, Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband Will Smith have said they will not attend the Oscars because all of the 20 acting nominations went to white actors. "The idea of a boycott is ridiculous," Molen said. "Are their noses bent out of shape by the award nominations? Of course. That is normal in a town of egos and red-carpet desires. While there were many performances of note, not all my choices for 'best' in the various categories have been realized." http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/oscar-winning-producer-denounces-spoiled-858207/ |
