I am a Liberal, but I must say that dean is not very far off base. Allowing illegals to flow into the country has diluted the labor force and kept wages down. The non-enforcement of our immigration laws is the result of business getting its way.

I do not want to see one illegal worker punished or prosecuted. They are only looking for a better life for themselves and their families and I sure can't fault them for that. We just need to start prosecuting EMPLOYERS who hire them illegally at a substandard wage. Once it is known that it is not so easy to get a job if you are an illegal, the flow into the country will slow to a trickle.

And if the success of your business model is predicated on paying slave like wages, find yourself another business.

Yes, we live in a global economy, but we should be striving to bring developing countries up to our standards- not us stooping to their standards.

I could go on forever about the outsourcing of America's jobs but that's another topic.

This might help identify companies that practice illegal hiring practices.

http://www.wehirealiens.com/ You can add companies also.

I totally agree about the part of fining and jailing employers who hire Illegals.

Along with that is deport all the Illegals. Once back in their country give them the opportunity to do the application process to become Legal Temporary Workers.

Isn't everyone here aware that once a migrant becomes a legal resident, they won't work the agriculture industries?

We need Temporary Migrant Workers.

so Mr. spur, Sir. You are suggesting that you just need them to pick up the vegetables that you eat.
Well Sir, I thought u had a greater mind, but it seems very narrow.

As spur has made note, miquel, this has gone way beyond this forum. The people (minority) here on this thread are only speaking through an emotional prejudice. They are talking with bleeding hearts not their minds.

Either way it is beyond them already. All across the country things are happening to reverse the tide of illegal immigration.

States and counties are training law enforcement to act as immigration officers and passing state laws targeting the problem. A problem that the Feds have ignored for far too long. This is why things are getting done and the illegals are desperate knowing the time is marked when they must leave!

Reba, giving the choice, which you were born with, the smart thing would have been to think about what would happen before you choose a criminal to sire your child!

I feel for you, but you made that decision, and now it is you that must live with the consequence!

I'm not sure who said it, but there is already a temporary work program in place and operating. There always has been.

and that is why I'm studying law.
because there is a simple thing called preemption doctrine.
any movement of local or state government can be easily stop in a claim presented in a federal court, for instance what happened in the federal court of California.
Just let me get ready, learn more about the law and the technicalities of the courts, and I'll be doing that.
i may lose all my claims, but at least I'll give some time to my homeboys, plus i've always enjoyed being nuisance.
now glen it can be whatever u want, but as the senate showed a couple of days these country is divided right in the dead center about this issue
so my friend don't claim that all those enforcement are all over the country.
