This sexist/homophobic garbage is so much tripe it would be funny if it were not so ridiculous.

There are a lot of qualities that determine fitness for duty and who could and should be in in a combat theater and the best professional to do the job. Size and brute strength has not been and never will be the single factor; and if that were the case some of the smaller size male Marines would have never been in the Ranks either.

Those who think that men and women can not train together, fight together, and yes live together with out sexualizing each other are the same kind of perverts that say the few that use sexual abuse of children as and irresistible urge as justification. Many men, and women, understand the sacrifices of privacy in situations they either choose to serve together or are forced to by circumstances to endure and just as often over come the enemy. Are they aware of gender, well duh yea, but so are the those who have served for generations and were attracted to same gender and did not act on that either. At least at not such a level as to impede the mission. And those in command and leadership positions will tell you, any day of the week, it is not the gender of the soldier but their ability to put the mission first.

I dare say, from experience, that it does not downgrade the ability of either gender; except for those few bad apples that want it to be used for their own selfish advantage over others. And in fact actually make the units stronger both mentally and physically. And in some ways smaller soldiers weather male or female are actually better at certain tactics, and surviving certain situations. This has been proven historically over and over. In militias all over the world.

If you actually have been in real combat or life and death situations females are just as fierce and just as capable as males to resist and overwhelm as men.

I dare say I am a much better marksman, able to defend myself by tactics and self defense/attack/survival skills as the majority of men. And I know my ability to think and survive my situation on my wits, stamina, cunning, and experience is better than many men.

Mixed Combat-Units are Bunk!

You know, I would LOVE for you to meet a few friends of mine (all female) who served in front line type positions (such as with marine infantry units). Everyone is entitled their individual opinion, but you really do need to wake up and realize that you are in the 21st century now, not the dark ages. Discrimination IS being put to rest, slowly but surely, this is not going to stop.

What Obama has in mind with his Mixed Combat-Units is highly IDIOTIC!

Well, I spent my time in Paris Island, combat training and Camp Lejeune and there was a reason the men and women were separated. Don't get me wrong, the woman trained hard, that is for sure. And they were tough as they could be. But fact is they would get there *** kicked in the hand to hand combat training if the training was male / Female.Which would more the likely mean failure on the battle field, which in turn leads to death.. for her. And it puts the other Marines in danger.

PC... No... Fact... yes.

I can run faster than you
I am stronger than you
I can carry more weight further than you
That is fact. sorry your liberal pysche is hurt..

"" WASHINGTON — A Marine Corps study that
found all-male ground combat units more
effective than teams that included women
has raised new concerns about the
Pentagon's push to open all jobs to women
next year.
A summary of results released Thursday from
the unprecedented study showed that all-male
ground combat squads were faster, stronger
and more lethal in most cases than units that
included women.The women also suffered
higher injury rates during physically demanding
training.""

at the base seems to be whether we have a blanket belief in men being stronger than women or not...

in the past, I have believed in INDIVIDUAL assessment,
for instance, I believe that the 'monster' theory whenever a male puts his hands on a woman aggressively is BUNK,, unless woman is just as much a 'monster' when she does the same to a man

I believe if you are grown and put your hands on someone, you don't get to be a 'victim' if they return the favor, whatever sex you are

,,,consistent with that, it seems to me that IF and when they find females that can truly hang with the boys,,, there shouldn't be a reason to exclude THAT female,,,

still, no one has answered my question... why do men and women have separate leagues in ALL sports? this includes non-sports, like diving, pool, darts, even ribbon twirling... any takers on this?

well, if women are so "equal", then y'all set the rules... let's have a coed hockey match, or a men vs women basketball game...

there's a way bigger reason why, and it applies to combat...

A related story...albeit, a cpl years old...

"" Rookie injuries rise after FDNY
lowers standards
Department veterans say the rookies
are being allowed on light duty after
suffering lesser injuries like a sprained
ankle

NEW YORK — A large number of rookie
firefighters have been injured during training
this year after the department dropped some of
its rigorous standards.
New York Post reported at least a dozen
recruits out of a class of 300 have had to go
on paid medical leave.
“Kids are showing up that don’t belong there,”
a high-ranking source said. “They are getting
these soft-tissue injuries and being put on light
duty.”
Usually, no more than one or two rookies per
year are hurt.
Veterans of the department say the rookies are
being allowed on light duty after suffering lesser
injuries like a sprained ankle, according to the
report.
“When I was in the fire academy, if you strained
a muscle, you dealt with it at home,” a 16-year
FDNY member source said. “You nursed it on
your off-time and got right back to training the
next day.”
In July, a physically unfit FDNY probie,
Choeurlyne Doirin, 39, was allowed to remain
on light duty even though she couldn’t
graduate with her classmates.
Another recruit, Wendy Tapia, was allowed to
graduate from the academy despite failing a
running test five times, according to the report.""

Anybody care to guess why they lowered standards in the first place? Heres a hint....the last two names in the above article should clue you in.

i won't disagree, but the liberals are the ones that won't allow that...

no child left behind rule
racial quotas
people are equal no matter what

liberals have effectively lowered standards on everything where people do not even have to strive to achieve things they want anymore... of course there are many women that would be great in combat situations, better than most men even.. but the libs lower the standard where they can just automatically get it without reaching the "strive" to be at their best, because they can do it just because they are a woman...
