This Pre-Fab Hobbit Home Is Eco-Friendly And Can Be Built In 3 Days

http://amazyble.com/green-tech/this-pre-fab-hobbit-home-is-eco-friendly-and-can-be-built-in-3-days/

Green Magic Homes has designed a 400-square-foot abode that can be assembled by three people in just a few days!

If you’ve ever dreamt of living in Middle Earth, your geekiest dream may soon come true.

The company Green Magic Homes has developed tiny prefabricated houses that look exactly like Hobbit holes. Perhaps the best part? The 400-square-foot homes can be assembled by three people in about three days time!

Inhabitat reports that the eco-friendly abodes are designed to exist under a layer of soil and turf and can even produce food if you’re ambitious enough to garden some veggies on the roof.

Each home is composed of prefabricated vaulted panels manufactured with composite laminate materials, confined by walls in reinforced soil. The structure is easy to assemble and features perforated flaps in order to screw and seal the components together.

Cozy during the winter and resourceful in the summer, this is the kind of living space many can get excited about.

And get this: If you’ve been envisioning your Hobbit home for a while now, Green Magic Homes will actually construct it as their modular system offers endless possibilities of design.

You don’t have to a Tolkien fan to appreciate this creative eco-friendly offering. Scroll through some of the photos below and visit the company’s website to learn more!

Yes, soufiehere then it would be a better deal if all come with that view.
For some, they will be ideal, easy and fast to build.
But I rather create/build it myself... Incl. the design.
Than placing a completely prefab home. Not as much fun as doing it all completely self.

I am interested in a tiny or small house. I would like a lot of windows for sunlight. I'm not really into a loft. I want something on one floor. I get a newsletter about tiny/small house living.

I like the concepts of permaculture, tiny houses etc. The view in those pics is spectacular. I agree with Moon though, I'd rather design and build my own dwelling. I think it would be more true to the spirit of the concept to use natural stone and timber, than composite hulls.

Yeah, but it would probably take longer to get the place hooked up to utilities (water, electric, gas, sewer).

To me, it would not be how fast a house could be assembled but how well built. I want a house that is solid and low maintenance.

400 sq. ft., is roughly the size of my living room.
If plans include something in the 3,500 sq. ft. range, that would be awesome.

Love the look of it!
The only thing that I'm thinking: does the material of such a prefab home 'breathe'??
If it doesn't, it's could be a nice health hazard. Also if it's laminated, it may emit toxic gases. Like we had with default stupid simple plasterboard and didn't know about it for decades.

I was trying to remember where I'd seen something like this before.

Then it dawned on me, the Telletubbies.

Nice view

Yes it does. I would say they used one.
My favourite Telletubby was the red one.
