"Intimate Encounter" means they are wanting sex. "Activity Partner" means they want someone to go and do stuff with . Welcome :-)

Intimate encounter is when you want more than just hold hands. Activity partner is when you want someone to participate in tennis or something like that. At least that is how I understand it. Hope that helps

Hope that helps Oh,I always thought holding hands was an intimate encounter and an activity partner was when you want more than just holding hands but then again I'm Irish

There is a activity partner.. on demand button.. and there is a intimate encounter.. on demand button.. Boy this is going to make things a lot easier .. why am I always the last to find out about these things

For me Intimate Encounter could mean either be someone you have develop a close personal attachment and build good rapport, may become a close friend or more than friends sharing a special feelings for each other, sexual or non sexual. While Activity Partner refers to a person whom you have develop a special bond, sharing common interest for a specific activity could be sexual or non sexual such as in sex, sports, hobbies, interests or anything that you do with someone you like or love, online or offline.

It looks like we all attach different meanings to these phrases. Maybe they need a formal explanation just like we have rules that we need to read before posting on community discussions. I thought an activity partner is a person I want to appear with in public without any sexual commitment, be it sport, formal occasions like business dinners/meetings, etc.
