Northern California is sure being challenged with the long standing drought and terrible "Valley" and "Butte" fires. Hundreds, if not soon potentially six thousand plus homes destroyed and people and animals (many horses) displaced. Hope everyone will remember them in your prayers.

Middletown is wiped out and ashes but the Christian School and Middle school did survive with "defensible space".

And if you have the means to help assistance. Those who want to help check with CAL fire INFORMATION OFFICER Daniel Berlant or established agencies such as Red Cross and SPCA who will be able to tell you their immediate needs. It is likely there will be great need for animal foster homes and temporary shelters as the families have to recover first.

A special Thank you to all the Professional fire fighters and support teams that are working under terrible heat conditions. Several Firefighters hospitalized at University of California Davis.

If you are thinking about having a lonely Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday perhaps joining a Recovery Team program is something to consider.

Being prepared for emergencies is actually another good way to help those suffering. EVERYONE being prepared to evacuate in emergencies is always going to help recovery efforts.

I hope that enough volunteers help out. I am glad they are looking for homes for animals but I hope people who have lost their homes get assistance as well.

Good work to the fire fighters and emergency personal.

Some of the firefighters have lost their own homes or those of extended family in these close knit communities. So sad. Hopefully the cooler temperatures will stay mild and not move into rain and high elevation cold for the tent cities of the evacuated. So far adequate food and animal food and other emergency supplies but it is going to be a major clean up and relocation effort until the communities can be rebuilt. Hopefully the strong nature of these long lasting small communities will be enough to help them through. PLEASE continue to keep us in prayers.

Sorry for the loss of homes .I hope that the weather keeps cooperating as well. That is difficult having to go through so much uncertainty ... sounds like people are being supportive.

Thanks for the update.

Scary stuff! I hope people will be safe and for the fires to end ..
Recently read about the impact of the many many fires in Alaska and Canada on our planet, and the ones of California add to that.
Seriously alarming what it does to our planet and climate! And Earth is the one home we cannot rebuild and thus cannot afford to lose.

I do hope these people are kept safe, both firefighters and ppl that live there.
