This is what a conversation between me and this dude
Me. Hi how are you?
Him good
Me. . Did you have a good day
Him yes I work as a plumber and i had an interesting day.
Me cool bro
Him. Are you chatting me up
Me hey????
Him. Just wondering if you are trying to get to take you out
Me. Oh my gosh do you think you that good looking? And while you are thinking on that think on this to what are you going to do when a dog want his *** back. You are going to have to give him your face.
Him shockedi
Me. When someone is being friendly it doesn't mean I am interested in you it means I am a friendly girl

Those that heard it laughed
My trainer told him you are here to train not chat the girls up. Let this be a lesson to you

If a girl likes a guy's photo on fb the guy rushes to the inbox and sends the girl a message. It's just how we were created to respond. flowerforyou

That's a good point I didn't think of that
Crap now I am going to avoid him.
Thank you
I was annoyed he thought I was wanting to match up with him when I was just being friendly.
So my mouth went into action without the brain thinking.

Nah Annie, I think you did right. If he was nice he wouldn't have said "Are you chatting me up".

Well, presented like this, with no tone of voice or other indicators, it sure reads to me as though you ambushed the poor guy.

You initiated NON-GYM contact and conversation. In most cases, whether in a gym, or on the street, it's perfectly logical to assume the person who does so is interested in something other than whether or not the gym machines are working correctly.

Unless his tone of voice indicated something I can't tell from reading this, it sounds rather like the 1972 era exchanges I overheard at college, where the wannabe Women's Lib ninja girl would greet some poor target with "How's it going, dude?" and if the fool said anything remotely close to "so, would you like to get a soda together?" , she would call him a fascist pig, and look for high fives from her cohorts.

I wont condemn you here, since I also know that some dreary males have the ability to say "good morning" in a manner which clearly communicates that what they really mean is "I wanna lick your nether regions in public right now." If he was that sort of fellow, then you let him off easy.

But if your trainer really did think that "you are here to train, not to chat the girls up," why didn't he or she warn you of that same thing?

Under any circumstances I had not spoken to him or the ladies before him in any flirtatious manner. I said the same greeting to him as I said the the ladies.
Therefore why should I have been told iff when I did no wrong
Another thing I maybe independent that does not put me in the same boat as women's lib
If he wanted to ask me out in my eyes that is not the way to ask.
By what I said does not mean I want to get in his jocks
Not every female thinks a male is a pig if he ask her out
Where I come from saying good morning to either sex doesn't always mean lets rock n roll.
Thnk you for your thoughts
If you knew me then you would know my intention was innocent to both females and males
