can age be the factor of individual maturity

age is a measure of the years present on the earth

maturity is a measure of emotional/intellectual growth in relation to the years present on the earth...

so, yes

age can be a significant factor of maturity

Age happens to everyone. Maturity...that has to be acquired.

If someone looks at a couple they may consider a mismatch, it's because they've never seen how great the two are for each other.

Maturity doesn't always come with age. However, I'd take a wise forty year old, over a twenty-something. I like grown men.

Usually it's observed that age begets maturity, although exceptions do occur.:smile:

I've known a lot of 14 year-old men and a lot of 40 year-old boys. It just depends on how the individual in question handles a given situation.

I also have to agree with this. Maturity aside though, some days I just have to be a Toys R Us kid.

Age...Maturity...meaningless to me. It's all about respect.

When I was a very young child, one of my earliest deductions was that age equaled knowledge and maturity.

I was unpleasantly disabused of those deductions over a long period of painful growth in my own actual understanding of people.

One of the most painful lessons, resulted in my recognition that just because someone memorizes some very complicated quotes by wise people of the past, doesn't remotely mean that they have the slightest clue what they actually mean.

Short answer to the OP: no, age is not THE factor of maturity. It's just that time usually passes in direct proportion to what people learn, so it is rare to find a very YOUNG and mature person. But as others noted, unfortunately it is not at all unusual to find very old IMMATURE people.

Lovely, ovely;
i mean lovely age.

'animals'?what
We generally respect age; and as we grow older, with kids we become like kids; that elasticity is possible only when you grow beyond a point.
Could appear as immature to a bystander but i suppose this is not what you mean. Maybe being competitive, don't share or something; like young animals?

Actually, being mature can also turn to become a handicap.. something like
people biting the hand that feeds.

And for heaven's sake, explain those 3 vowels in your name. I have
given up trying to pronounce it and although saying it is not matue;
but not saying is slaphead

Seriously, it's when a person goes out on vacation; time out to reflect
& that's a luxury comes more often with aging.

Age is something you take with you everywhere you go, you have no choice.

Maturity, well, you can check that at the door any time you want to do so.

Speaking of which... Who's up for hitting a "slip and slide" on this warm August afternoon?
