I found several repair options(google-flashing laptop screen) and it also appears that windows 8 has had some display issues. My old laptop started to act that way just before the display died.try adding a display and toggle the extended desktop to the second display. If the problem doesn't occur there, its your laptop display.

Have you changed the size of your desktop or the refresh rate of the monitor. Usually either of those are more likely the problem than either your monitor or video card going out.

questions:

does it do it only when on this site?

or only when using your browser?

or is it all the time no matter what you are doing?

what browser are you using?
Internet Explorer?

or Chrome?

im guessing by that answer you're running internet explorer  are you on windows 8 or 7?

it may be helpful to know what version of Inter explorer you're running...this article shows how to find that

do you mean bing desktop?
or bing bar?

I wasn't aware they had a stand-alone browser...my main laptop is Ubuntu, although I do have a win-8 gaming laptop but haven't had much time for gaming recently so not up on MS products

yup a full up browser. i am not sure how new it is but i wasn't happy with the loss of a couple of function on one of the last updates to firefox so i went looking. though you will need to wait for debbie to confirm it's the browser not just the search engine to continue helping her
