.....you always see really over weight people at fast food restaurants, and really thin anorexic types at the gym, but hardly ever the other way around?

And why do people who have whiny, screaming, hyper-active kids think the best thing to do with them is take them to a restaurant and fill them full of sugar?

It is an obvious conspiracy. I blame Republicans.

Inbreeding. Idiots having kids with other idiots.

Why those ppl don't go to the gym? Because they simply don't eat / act / behave / think healthy. So why do something healthy like go to a gym?
I think losing weight starts with flicking a switch in your brain first. And deciding to buy AND eat different food, healthy food. Like greens instead of bacon and corn syrup-drenched food.
Question is more like: why don't these ppl care about their health and looks?

Why is it you want answers to this? It seems obvious.....people choose their lifestyles and are free to do so.

Why is it...you always see really over weight people at fast food restaurants

I don't really go into fast food restaurants anymore, so I don't always see really over weight people at fast food restaurants.

When I was a kid and went to McDonald's with my dad the majority of people I saw there were normal college age kids, or average looking moms and dad's with kids.
Same when I went to Taco Bell, Burger King, or Jack in the Box, while in college.

The biggest herd of over weight people I've ever consistently seen has been at malls. Usually wearing sneakers as they use the mall as an indoor walking track.
Otherwise, it's been Wal-Mart where I always saw really overweight people.

Other than that, IME, if someone is overweight because they really love food, then they're avoiding fast food like the plague, because it tastes like crap. I've seen more overweight people at Outback, or Olive Garden, or Maestro's, or Ruth's Chris, or Morton's, or Chili's than I ever did at a fast food place.

If they're really overweight because they're using food to sublimate an emotional problem, I think they'd probably stay at home and just order pizza, or just buy junk food from the store to eat while watching t.v., wanting to avoid going outside if they can, because they know they're really over weight and want to avoid judgmental looks, real or imagined. They avoid fast food places in order to avoid looking like a cliche. Or they just use the drive through.
I wonder if a really overweight person can drive their lil rascal through the drive thru.

and really thin anorexic types at the gym, but hardly ever the other way around?

I've only had a gym membership once, solely for their pool.
But that was gross.
I'm cheap. Why pay people to lift heavy things and run around? Why pay someone to relive my high school gym class?
There's nothing at a gym I can't get at home working around the house or yard or by running around the neighborhood, and it smells better. Except for a pool. I wish I had a pool.

But I have sat outside of gyms in my car, walked by them in strip malls.
And the majority of people I saw going inside were in no way anorexic or thin.
Most were a little to really overweight and older, mostly middle aged women, or hulking dudes.

And once I worked for a company that had a free standing membership at a gym for its employees, we'd go and play basketball there a couple nights a week, but there were no thin or anorexic types there, mostly just middle aged average looking people.

Plus, have you ever walked by a Curves and looked inside?
I have a few times.
There are no skinny or anorexic women in there.

why do people who have whiny, screaming, hyper-active kids think the best thing to do with them is take them to a restaurant and fill them full of sugar?

I think the sugar thing is a myth.
I believe studies were done back in the 90's showing that sugar really didn't affect kids the way parents thought it did.

It was just parents expecting their kids to act all crazy high on sugar so started treating their kids differently, sometimes overreacting to their kids behavior, causing a reciprocating effect.
And kids are far more responsive to indirect communication than adults. Kids will pick up on a parents expectations and feel compelled to live up to them.

I've seen skinny people in fast food restaurants and overweight people in gyms. Maybe you're focusing too much on certain people at certain places.

And why do people who have whiny, screaming, hyper-active kids think the best thing to do with them is take them to a restaurant and fill them full of sugar?

Because it's cheap and may calm them down for a little bit.

.....you always see really over weight people at fast food restaurants, and really thin anorexic types at the gym, but hardly ever the other way around?

BECAUSE both types have been taught that food is something besides food and both places require the least amount of normal interaction with other people.

And why do people who have whiny, screaming, hyper-active kids think the best thing to do with them is take them to a restaurant and fill them full of sugar?

BECAUSE They have been taught zero parenting skills. AND because restaurant tolerate this kind of bad customer behavior because they can collect on the price of the meal once ordered regardless of the environment.

I have gotten so sick of it I tend to go out to eat in Casino's not because I gamble but because there are rarely obnoxious children.

What I really can not understand is how easy it is to train a child to behave well in a restaurant and how few parents figure it out. Makes me wonder if they are illiterate because the parenting books clearly address the topic.

According to a scientific study, 9 out of 10 environmentalists have concluded that breathing air is bad for you, and causes you to run inside a fast food restaurant to buy terrible food to get fat and feed your unruly kinds. Film at 11.

I have three children and have always removed them from a restaurant or movie, if needed. Most times they are just tired. You can always get it to go or check the movie out another day.

Some parents just don't think they need to do this and intentionally subject people to a screaming child. I was having chemotherapy one day. I go to this room, sit in a comfy chair, get a soft blanket, take my nausea med, my IV is placed and I get the therapy for about six hours. I am surrounded by other patients, there are many chairs. Guests can sit with you as well.

On this day another patient had a guest with a small child. The child starting screaming; a piercing sound. We all ignored it the first or second; Heck maybe even the third time. Then again, that blood curdling scream...I raised my arms and covered my ears and the staff looked very uncomfortable about the situation.

Then, out of the blue, the very quiet, kind gentlemen sitting to my left yelled so loudly, "Shut up!" and all at once, silence. We took a sigh of relief and I, myself was grinning ear to ear. The mother finally took the child away. No one said a word. We just went back to our own peaceful place.

Because photobucket sucks????

And too much artificial butter flavor and salt is bad for you.
