*gets on soap box* marital infidelity seems to be much more common now days than it was back when I was younger. Most marriages, and this is my opinion, seem to be based on what a person sees on the outside. Sad it is, but that is what I am seeing, or it is because a young couple get married because the woman got pregnant and the mans family insist they get married. I am sure that there are other reasons why it happens, but it all boils down to trust and communication between the two. It takes two to make any relationship work or to destroy it. *gets off soapbox* |

So, I find myself (and always have) attracted to strong men,, but a strong man to me is one who puts family first my favorite male celebs were my favorite because they seemed so devoted to family, to the excitement and satisfaction of loving someone Robin thicke, whom I loved for his seemingly flawless expression of being 'in love' and not just lust,,,has disappointed in the general crossover decision to be about 'blurred lines' and having young women with their behind in his crotch and ,,,infidelity against a woman he professed so often to be his muse Ben Affleck, whom I loved to hear speak , due to his devotion to 'human' issues and his down to earth self projection, and loyalty to old fashioned family,,,,,,,,has now lost his marriage, allegedly although it may be, to infidelity I know these are people whose lives I can only imagine , who live in an environment of the kind of constant and overwhelming temptation most men do not,,,,,,,but how closely does their inability to commit to fidelity the way they do to their careers or their friends,,,, reflect the attitude of the average man? are faithful men really becoming the rarity and men who have to have it however and whenever with whomever becoming the norm,,? Patrick McGoohan was an actor I much admired, and I once read somewhere, that he would not kiss a woman on screen out of love and respect for his wife. He fell in love with actress Joan Drummond and they married in 1951 and remained so until his death in 2009. Perhaps if a few of today's married actors (actors refers to both sexes these days) refrained from too much simulated on screen sex, their marriages would last longer, just a thought. |

Op it is nice to see those in the entertainment biz have and love their family and respect the love they have in a relationship or a marriage ... I have felt at one time marriage should not be broken for anything and you worked out what ever kind of issues the couple may have ... but after realizing life is not that way ... and to many get divorced ... I have to except what ever happens in a relationship to stay or move on ... because some relationships can be toxic to one another ... but it does not mean your future has to be like that ... and not every relationship does not always end unhappily ... and this is what one has to keep in mind ... once hurt one can not stay in this emotion ...if they ever want to be with a man or women again and be happy... if that is what one wants ...

I am reasonably confident that a lot of actors and other celebrity types don't have affairs or commit infidelity because they like/lust/love someone outside their committed relationship/marriage... rather, they do it for the publicity and ratings. To keep themselves in the public eye between movies or when the news dares to turn their eye to something else (like the economy or world affairs). There is no other real reason why something this legal and this personal/private/"in the family" should be publicized as much as it is - a celebrity could easily afford a lawyer good enough to keep things quiet, if they wanted to.
The premise of acting is that you can make something seem real when you don't really feel that way. If you are actually attracted to your on-screen partner, or really like or love them, then it's not acting to portray that. The flip side of acting is that you have to be able to have a high level of self-control to portray these things, and only look like you're letting go when you're really in control and know everything that's going on. |

We cheat because it ain't happening at home for the most part. I am 65 and been married almost 44 years to the same woman. Not willing to fed rid of here.. Sure as hell don't want to try and figure out the thinking of another woman this late in the game. Just need that companionship,, that touch, that feeling on occasion..... Yep, go ahead and call me bad!

are faithful men really becoming the rarity and men who have to have it however and whenever with whomever becoming the norm,,? IMO, NO. Faithful men are still the average. I DO think that society as a whole has a skewed picture of why men cheat. Men and women today share quite a lot of the roles that used to be gender-specific...working to support a family, pay rates, staying at home to raise the children, cleaning, etc. Men in general have lost the ability to "be a man". Men need to be needed, wanted, desired and when they stop getting that from their partner, they move on to someone who does. |
