Yet, the Internet Movie Database demonstrates that “Cosby and Moritz never appeared together on an episode of The Tonight Show in 1971.” Mr. Cosby did appear on the show in that year, March 3, but this was with fellow guests Clifton Davis and Bob Kaufman, also appearing in October of that year with Buddy Greco, Sam Levenson, among others. Moritz was simply not there, not at either occasion.

Instead, she appeared at a different time unrelated to the comedian, which was the July 23, 1971, show with Troy Donahue, Stan Kann, Rex Reed, and July Wilson, also appearing again with other guests on both August 23 and 26. No wonder she used the Tonight Show as the basis for her false witness. She thought no one would check and the story line would fall through as true.

In addition to IMDB being not an industry database, but another of the many wiki-type user-created databases, their official method of dating things isn't necessarily what you expect it to be.

For one thing, it can be inconsistent in general process. For another, it can be based on TAPING dates on some instances, and on BROADCASTING dates on others.

I once pointed out to the operators that they had posted that a certain child actress had performed on a British TV show, two years before she had been born, and they replied to me that the date shown for the day she DID perform on that show was actually accurate, except that I had to realize that that particular sequence of shows BEGAN two years earlier. Hence they used the STARTING DATE FOR THE PRODUCTION, rather than the actual date of the stars appearance, to date the star's bio.

Bottom line, although IMDB is not likely to be conspiring to help or hurt Cosby, their methods of applying dates are not to be relied upon as being what any of us in these forums would agree to refer to as "factually based."

I have some experience with people in the latter years of their life...you can always tell those who lived a life of integrity..they are never ashamed of the decisions they've made, whether it was right or wrong during the time, they always know they did it for good reasons and never refrain from speaking up about it and defending the choices they had to go thru...

People know. People remember. We may not remember all the specific details, but we remember why we did what we did and we know if we have done others wrong.

It's a shame to reach that stage in life only to have people from the past haunt you for the wrongs that happened. But its more of a shame when you can't answer to them or to your own conscience about the things that happened and try to run from it instead...because in the end, you can't.
