OK, so I deactivated for a week and came back, and I have received 14 e-mails since I reactivated very early this morning. They come from far-away lands like Arizona and New York and Washington and Michigan and Utah, among others.

Nothing from Illinois or Indiana, but, then again, I NEVER get anything from Illinois or Indiana (well, there have been a couple of exceptions, but you know what I mean).

So it occurred to me that, even though there are hundreds of local girls on the site (and I KNOW this because I see them drfiting through the New Matches area on the home page), maybe they just don't ever read the forums. Is that possible? I have read posts by some people who signed up and never even knew there were forums here until months later.

So maybe all of these Illinois/Indiana people have signed up but have never read the forums! That would explain everything!

So, if you are from Illinois or Indiana, and are not reading this, for whatever reason, please reply and explain yourself. Otherwise I will have no choice but to assume that you are deliberately ignoring me. And no, I did not run over your cat, that was the guy across the street.

Something someone did, over on another site that worked really well, was 'WAKE UP THE NEUGHBOURS!!!!"

Everyone that felt inclined to, emailed some site members that weren't forum posters and enticed, threatened, invited, bribed, and all the other ways and methods available, for people to join the forums...

It was a blast...and so many new 'sleeping members' were awakened...

Lee, it's funny you brought that up. I used to occasionally send an e-mail to new locals, welcoming them to the site and explaining about how useful the forums are, if you want to get to know people here.

And some of them would immediately start posting. One actually posted sporadically over a period of about 4 or 5 months, and a few of the others posted at least briefly.

But not a single one ever replied to my e-mails.

And I've had a bunch of people tell me that had the exact same experience with THEIR locals, too, but in other parts of the country.

Maybe JSH ought to start a sister site for rude and insensitive people, and call it Just Don't Say Anything.

He created a thread, called "WAKE UP THE NEIGHBOURS", and everyone got in on it, and went 'cruising' the profiles and invited, (nicer word for it)...if every poster mailed five profiles....bet we would have an influx...
