A stunningly beautiful girl was born in Payson,Utah*
This angel of God would later become a musical star*
Her brilliant mind is graced with a sweet angelic voice*
Such hard scrabbled farm land provided her with no choice*
And that would of have been a tremendous loss to all humanity*
Them soiled hands had lent her such a wise perception of life*
Meanwhile typical greed at Atlantic Records twisted their
skillful & cleverly honed knife*I stand in awe of her
accomplishments that make up such a bountiful list*Some
hypocrites have said she sold out while shaking their fists*
Many years she spent learning with her Father in such cold
rugged Alaskan land*A passioned plea,yodeling,with her
acoustic guitar in hand*She was born poverty stricken and
bearing Swiss-German decent*With steadfast faith and hope
her will had never bent*Throughout the years scores of
musicians have come and gone*Eternally grateful am I;the
day that Jewel Kilcher was born*A model for perseverance
for her home was once a van*Earnestly seeking for such
betterment of mortal man*Her sweet melodic voice resonates
smooth and soothingly*So naked am I;while the waves of
cool water splash over me*The shedding of a hardened skin
so I may honestly feel*She added a little cleavage for a
required Hollywood appeal*Them demanding little tyrants
with their greedy fists*So wide is their gate leading
towards a hell bound abyss*Such pure pathetic stick figures
malnourished from refrain*While the CEO's tally sales
margins and their corporate gains*I am but a mere Poet
hoping that my words may stand*Jewel Kilcher carves a new
direction for women,water,& land*Countless are them souls
who have been sadly brow beaten down*Open thy mind,she
provides hope for thee with her sound*The years are so
consuming,leading me closer to my death*She lies deeply
entrenched within me until my final breath*The time draws
closer Jewel to return back to your roots*Happily frolic
amongst dandelions with your cowgirl boots*
