Topic: What type of tree are you? | |
---|---|
Hi All,
I had to go put on some "pg" to enjoy the moment. My sound system is commonly referred to as the "musical forest" because of all the different woods. Trees are so peaceful. You can watch them for hours on end. |

Hello Michael..
thanks for your thread... I am sorry I didn't acknowledge you in my last post... My bad... I would also like to be a beautiful wisteria vine that provides such beautiful color and fragrance everywhere it vines, and it's roots & branches are so strong, yet it is so delicate... and it's branches can be twisted to form a free standing tree or espalier |

I choose the Marula tree
The history of the marula tree goes back thousands of years. Archaeological evidence shows the marula tree was a source of nutrition as long as ago as 10,000 years B.C. Marula, Scelerocarya birrea, subspecies caffera, is one of Africa' botanical treasures. In the Pomongwe Cave in Zimbabwe, it is estimated that 24 million marula fruits were eaten. Not only the fruit, but also the nut, are rich in minerals and vitamins. Legends abound on the multiple uses of the tree, the bark, the leaves, fruit, nut and kernels. Most well known as the fruit that 'drives elephants mad' when dropped to the ground and lightly fermented, marula is a much-loved tree in the veld in Africa. It was a dietary mainstay in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia throughout ancient times. |

Hi JSH,
It was such a beautiful day here. Seems like it has been such a long time that I have had a chance to just take in the moment. The sunset was ingredable with all of the colors blending and then changing the picture every few minutes across the mountains. Makes you want to take a deep breath and say hello to life. Bonny has been fighting her computer a little, but I'm sure she will get it squared away soon. She's made some really good friends here and it makes me so happy. I hope all of your days have been happy ones and you have been filled with many blessings. peace, love, and happiness michael PS don't forget to tell someone you love them, it's the best gift you can give. |

A forest...an eco system, a microcosm, all interdependent on the other...take one thing away and I am less, fragile...
All the trees, all the deserts...all the oceans... I am me. |

The Manzanita sometimes are described as evergreen "shrubs".
They are much more than this. I have been surveying the forest weeks after a fire and the Manzanita seems to be the first flag of hope with it's habitrail nest of jagged scarred but still in tact. The little evergreen sprouts pop up with the first hint of water. There is a place in Zion Canyon, UT where along with the Pinions the Manzanitas grow horizontially out of the wet limestone cliff walls as if to watch over you as you hike the narrows of the canyon. Yes, I'd like to aspire to be as resilliant as the Manzanita. I think the music that comes to mind when I think about the Manzanita is Vivaldi (any season). |
