Hi folks,I don't know if this thread has been done before,but I'm familiar with the saying,"a woman likes a man to take control",but I also know of some that prefer the shy type,oh and as for me,I'm the "shy take control type" ,but seriously ladies,what's your type out of the two? And guys feel free to drop ya 2cents!!

could give a real one ..based on being who I am now at 46, mother of two who raised my kids on my own much of time over past twenty years

I would like a man who is a man of his word
which means if he says he is going to call and wants to take me to dinner? he shows up to do it

I would like a man that knows that even a strong woman might need a hand once in awhile..sees that sometimes I get damn tired of doing it all

opens a door for me, treats me like a woman not as mother
takes over the driving once in awhile so I don't have to all the time
understand I have a brain under this hat and appreciates that fact
I am not after a door mat
I want a man that tells me when I am full of bullsh--.
but also knows when I am being sweet

so no I am not looking for a shy guy I guess

i guess i fall under the shy type
as it is very very rare for me to make the first move

as for a relationship , i look for a lady that can meet me half way

i don't want a puppet and i don't want to be a puppet

guess i wont have kids , being 44 atm , would be 62 when the child hit 18 .... yeah i just don't see that happening

but then again who knows what life will bring

I take charge!

it's quite often that ladies will want to take charge of my taking charge

I'm older than you, Dat, never had children but my age isn't going to stop me from having them. That's a cop out statement. It has nothing to do with age. Men use that as an excuse. You probably just don't want children period. It's easier for you because your clock isn't ticking like a woman's clock. I probably have 3 minutes left before I lose my fertility - not even sure my eggs are good anymore either - but still going to go for it with the right man. A lot of women are having healthy children later in life and around my age these days so that also gives me hope.

I used to be painfully shy, got bullied in school. I despised myself. So I reinvented myself. I am take charge now but I also know when to relinquish the reins. I am easygoing and laidback as long as I am treated right. :-) But my shyness is still there too. People are complicated.

Oh this isn't supposed to be a thread about me. Drat! I want my man shy and sweet and hot.

Also, the take charge usually take charge in many other ways and may be too confident with the other ladies. I can't deal with that BS. So definitely prefer him shy so he will be more likely to stay faithful to me.

I'm attracted to confidence. I love a guy that is outgoing as I am, too. I like attention, and I want my guy to like that, too.

I'm the quietest guy I know! ha ha ha, aye right! Sometimes I take control and sometimes my missus does, but most of the time it's a 50/50 thing! The only time I take control fully is at work, as I'm the boss and have to lead by example, but I'm a fair man if people play fair with me at work! At home I'm only a husband and a father!

In general I prefer the take charge type. Shy men don't really appeal to me.

As long as he has the brain-cells to understand that taking charge doesn't mean he gets to dominate or take control over my life and/or everything I do.
Taking charge to me also means he can take charge of his own life, not depend on me.

That usually means "passive aggressive."
Possibly manipulating things until you indirectly get the answer or permission you are looking for to justify the behavior you really want to do without having to take responsibility for it.

Kind of like the "shy until you get to know me" nightmares that run around.
