Yes Christ went to hell when he died that means he was buried in the thumb for three days and three nights.  Yes, God Almighty most certainly put his 'thumb' down when it came to Jesus being buried in the tomb for three day and three nights.
But also, Jesus' spirit was made to go down to minister to other Souls in dense pits of Tartarus. (Matthew 12: 40) (Luke 11: 30) (2nd Peter 2: 4) I can't see your point there. Mathew 12:40 and Luke 11:30 refer to when Christ was dead and 2nd Peter is about the angels. Men are mortal, angels are not. There is nothing in man that could be tortured forever in tartarus. The soul and body die and have to be resurrected, the same as Christ was. Some o eternal life, some to the Lake of fire, where they are destroyed. What kind of a fiend would create something and plan to torture it forever? |

I'd actually recommend that You read the versus following and previous to these references as well. ****************************************************************************************************************************************** I've often wondered about how or why an Almighty God would see-fit to incarcerate Souls to time-indefinite, till I read something in the Quran that seemed to put it all into perspective. (Surah 32: 10-14) You see, to the same extent Mankind choses to forget about God in this life... God will permit the Angels to forget about those who were never mindful or grateful to the True God. |

Jesus Christ is the judge, Leo. While Jesus will be a judge, it is only by the Almighty God's leave. Jesus will be a the right-hand of God Almighty (The Metaphorical Father) with a great crowd of other witnesses of the True God, as well. The assumption that Jesus is Almighty God would be erroneous, and veneration and worship that will be directed toward Jesus will be sternly condemned. (Matthew 7: 21) (Hebrews 7: 7) The Father is not a "metaphorical" father though. Marry knew no man, she was a virgin. And bore the Father's child in whom we refer to as Jesus. But we are not brother's and sister's with Jesus as Jesus is the one whom created us. The assumption that Jesus is Almighty God would be erroneous, and veneration and worship that will be directed toward Jesus will be sternly condemned. Psalm 96:4 4. For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods. Psalm 97:9 9. For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods. Jesus is great God almighty, he is the one that created the Heavens and Earth. He is the one that created us, for again he is great God almighty, God of gods. |

I think the key to understanding eternal punishment, is to determine if man has an immortal soul. The Bible says the soul can die James 5:20. The Bible says, man is mortal, your soul is mortal. Immortality is a gift from God that you have to earn. Only those who keep the commandments of God will be given immortality.Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten. Yes, the reference to the word 'Soul' is often confusing. The word, Soul actually has two different meanings. There is the Physical Body which without the actual Spirit inside is often called the Carnal Soul or the Body. Then, there is the Spiritual Soul that resides within the Carnal Soul until the Body can not remain host to the Spirit. (The Moment Of Death) When the Soul dies it is referring to the expulsion of that Spirit from the Body. The Body (Carnal Soul) will no longer have any activities or brain workings or, before-long, any memory from 'others' who once knew the departed, as they will be buried and forgotten with the passing of time. But, the Spiritual Soul will continue in a realm of invisibility and will be martialed to its respective place. There are those of the first resurrection who'll be received into Allah's presents, immediately. And, there will be those of the second resurrection who'll either go to a waiting place (Sheol) or will be reproached immediately by the Angels who'll send them right into a fire right-a-way . There is also a last day whereupon ALL SOULS will be gathered together for the final sorting and judgement. On that day... Nothing will be left to doubt, and ALL SOULS will know everything that was pertinent for them to know. |

Jesus has never said he is not our God. Isaiah 43:3 3 For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee *Note For "I" amd the Lord "THY/YOUR" God. Jesus is the judge of judges God of Gods. As what usually happens in these threads, that's a bit off topic from the subject at hand so will not progress with repeating the same scriptures as shown before. |

My Quasi Mormon/Catholic views? Please don't label my views lol. I don't follow religion, i follow God and or his instructions. By no means am I saying I'm always right on the dot, but nevertheless that is due to my own lack of knowledge/understanding. I follow no "teachings" but that of Jesus. And I've convinced myself of no deception. I'm sorry you don't share the same view that Jesus is God, but that is everyone's choice my friend :). Not here to change your mind, just here for the lovely discussion that happens throughout this forum. |

True. Jesus is a gentleman and asks into your life. The devil is not so much a gentleman but if he gets in your life, you are outside looking in and he's on the couch of your soul! I died twice and did not even believe in hell but was on my way there. Liked heaven better when I died and would have went there, so am doing my best to let Jesus be my LORD and mean it.
