I was bitten by a dog and my bottom lip was ripped off when I was 5, they sewed it up horizontally on the bottom inside and out and then vertically right down the middle. It looked like I had just been busted in the mouth growing up but genetics gave me big lips and eventually the rest caught up with the scars and it is barely discernable now. I cut the underside of my big toe when I was 12 and have a large scar there. A horse ran me into a barbed wire fence at 14 and left several scars on my lower legs. I spilled burning grease on my upper thigh at 16 and that took months to heal and left a substantial scar. I sliced my thumb on a catfish at 18 that left a scar. I was involved in a motor vehicle vs. cow accident that shattered my left arm and left a railroad looking scar from wrist to elbow on the inside and outside of my lower arm as well as the smaller scars the surgeons left putting a plate in my neck and left foot. I wear my scars well. To me they are proof that one can overcome anything.....given the right mindset.

I only have two. My injuries were mostly the type which heal right up.
I have discoloring slightly on my arms and legs from falling out ofa moving car that didnt have the door shut tightly and I have a cirular mark on my leg from having dropped a round piece of meat from a very hot pot pie on my leg when I was younger. |

matching scars:::
About a 2 inch scar on the bottom of my foot from running through a campsite when I was young. Running right through and stomping right down on a tent stake...5 stitches. Same leg on my knee a few summers later ...we were jumping off a porch onto some huge pillows & blankets in the grass (weird kids we were). Landed on my knee and the zipper thingy from one of them pillows went ripping into my knee...5 stitches. Also have a bunch of faded small scars across one side of my face,shoulder and chest area where I flipped off of a friends handlebars riding double when we wiped out in a street. I remember going home and having my mom pulling tons of small rocks out of me with tweezers then came the peroxide |

Holy crap. Reading the replies to this is amazing. I thought I had a scar but it's really nothing. Runs from just below my neck to my waist. Had scoliosis and had my back straightened. A couple of titanium rods, a few hooks and I'm one inch taller and about 90% straight. Only had to have 4 ribs cut into to harvest the bone for the fusion.
I'm a work out fiend so building my back strength and core are the key to not having any back issues at all. btw - I have great posture now. |
