Topic: Why won't anyone Skype? | |
---|---|
I don't Skype and I'm as real as they come...
Normally when someone ask you to Skype in the first few e-mails they are scammers.. We have IM here and the way many see it is since there is IM here why should they Skype?? Myself I'm only interested in those that live within my area if they are not willing to meet face to face then they are not worth meeting... I'm not into the LDR and only phone calls and Skype to talk to them for months at a time... It works for some but for many it does not..... just not my thing. |

No one's ever asked me to Skype, but it would depend, as it does require one to give out personal information. Much for the same reason I don't trust anyone that asks me to "yahoo message," I would feel leery of Skype. If someone isn't willing to use the message system built into the core of the dating site to bring me to a point of being comfortable with them, then I automatically assume that they are up to no good. I guess what I'm saying is trust has to be built, and if someone isn't willing to understand that I'm not ready to go that far yet, then they weren't for me. EXACTLY!!! And this is also why I don't give out my cell # as quickly as most guys seem to think is ok. I have 2 instant messaging, skype (AFTER many messages) and email...if they can't use either of those, then BYE! |

my attitude is that, if they don't cam .... and consonantly give excuses then they are probably lying about something. With one person he always did this, I even just asked to send me a photo with him holding up a sign, but he didn't even do this ... it did leave me kinda heart broken, but he was not worth the effort in the end, and so when he stopped talking to me suddenly (again) I gave up. But it does leave you worrying if they were even 'real' you wanted him to hold up a sign ? Lol.. It's what I would want! Name and date is all that's needed. well, that's why they are not skyping you... hold up a sign and date?.. sounds like a ransom pic |

This topic has been discussed before in the forums, and there is no other way to put it, off site opens you up to what I call "sexual harassment" and I have my fair share of emails and pictures to prove it, then there is the hackers and scammers. Until I meet someone in person, I don't believe what I see (pictures) or what I hear (profile), I view everyone as a liar, a catfish, or a scammer hiding behind their computer screens, until proven otherwise.
Until I meet someone in person I generally do not go off site. That way if I'm not interested they don't have my phone number or email. Just may prevent stalking in the event they get pissed off because I didn't see them as God's gift to the world. |

For one....... All you guys and gals.... Anyone can get all your info for $20. on the internet.
No matter how careful you are. Sounds scary but don't worry. Most of those people don't target us lone minnows. |

I view those that want to chat on yahoo messenger as more of a scammer. No one really uses that anymore when you have things such as Skype, Hangouts, Kik, Viber, etc. I would rather use Skype to chat because then you can always move to voice chat and eventually video chat if it's promising. You don't have to have a lot of personal info out there on Skype. I guess it all depends on the type of person you are and what you feel comfortable with.

I still use yahoo messenger simply because it is something I am familiar with. I HAVE downloaded kik and skype, and still use my email (which is a junk-email NOT my personal email). Yes, anyone can get anything on us nowadays, however trying to be safe is still what we should continue with. Again, those peeps who ask me for phone # right away always gets a no from me. If they give me their # right away (no, i don't ask for it) I will use it to do a search to at least see if they are honest about where they are and their name.
I have found personally that you can get a LOT more info (and easier)with a cell # than any other outlet. that is unless you are silly enough to have all your outlets with the exact same addresses, #s and passwords. ...bottom line for me is.....I TRY MY BEST TO KEEP MYSELF SAFE. Do what you feel is best FOR YOU. |

If others do not want to communicate with you through Skype, then the problem is yours, not theirs.

Is everyone afraid to show their true face and how they speak? I would imagine some women are weary of the idiots who want to flash their tiny todgers. |

Every time I agree to skype with someone they try to turn to sex. As soon as that happens, it's click. I like to message a bit before agreeing to video chat just so I get a better feel for the guy. I completely agree with you. |

Unless i had a real genuine connection with someone I wouldn't meet them without skyping, I've met people in the past without it, but I had gotten to know them and trusted thay they were who they said they were.
Now if I didn't know the person that well and wanted to meet them quickly, I would definitely ask for some type of video chat...not necessarily skype. It all depends on the situation, and I understand why many women wouldn't want to skype....some hairy manbearpig sitting as his computer holding his willy thinking thats what a women wants to see.... but if you build up enough of a relationship ans she's interested in meeting im sure they would want to skype as well, safer for them...but if they have no real interest in you...then sorry probably not getting a video chat |

So I'm wearing a warm and comfy sweater, jeans and warm socks. I don't feel like having to change clothes, check my make-up and hair when I wanna feel nice and warm and relaxed. And no, I don't look a mess, but I don't look like a sex-doll 24/7, which is what most seem to expect. Funny enough most men don't give a toss about how they look themselves on camera. Not having a go ... just what I've come across |

There are privacy settings within TOOLS that you SHOULD SET yourself, not just keep the installed settings. I remember when yahoo and netmeeting first came out with the video conferencing. Whoa what a show! Anybody could see you online. I was trying to set up my mother to video with my brother and her eyes got super huge at one willy that just popped in. |

Went to an exercise class today with a lady I would not meet until after at least 40 messages, she chewed me out after about 20 saying anyone who did not want to meet after 3 was wasting her time. I find it takes a bunch to find out who is real and who is not. Do not even remember how to skype but would not give my yahoo or phone # out until I know as best I can they are not crazy....the scammers are easy, it is the crazies I worry about. And I am a man and, probably own over 30 guns, and a concealed weapons license!!
I do not want to run into Miss Bobbit |
