The $$ you save by not having them at the wedding
could pay for the honeymoon. |

If you have someone you love and want to marry but you family does not find that person suitable for you what do you do? ''attractin is not a choice'' its realy a unconcious choice...maybe they see something you do not see....example there are women everywhere who pick abusers that miss treat them,,family and friends say to then, hay stop it! he is not good for you and she says ''but i love him'' the only answer has to be ''attraction is not a concious choice''...there is no logic to favorite feelings we are recycling...the mental health field is only 20% effective because people cling to favorite feelings and beliefs that were formed befor we were old enough to fully understand.... |

By me it matter a lot. We are very close in my family.
Its up to you at the end what you want to do, just remember that love sometimes makes people blind. Be sure that you can live with what they already told you they see...wishes you the best luck in the futher. |

If you have someone you love and want to marry but you family does not find that person suitable for you what do you do? Family is very important...I would not want to find myself in the position of choosing between them and someone I love enough to marry...Because of this and because I know they (my family) always have my best interest at heart, I would listen to their reasons with an open mind knowing full well the ultimate decision will remain with me... |

As far as I'm concerned, I'll be marrying an individual woman, not her family. A lot of people have poor relationships with the rest of their family, but I don't think it's necessarily any individual's fault. It may just be an unavoidable clash of personalities. You can't pick your family, after all.
For your case, Rexgito, I'd recommend you think about: "Can I live my life without my family? Can I live my life without my wife interacting with my family?" If you and your family are very close, the answers are probably "No". Though I would listen to their concerns, and see if you share any of those concerns. That's usually a good indication that those concerns are valid. At the same time, though, you're going to be the one in the marriage, not the rest of your family, and you have to live with yourself and your wife. |
