This is for us. We spend our lives in reverse of the 9-5ers, work hours that make it nearly impossible to meet anyone or have a life outside of work. Raise your flag! Say hello!

"Work" is a 4-letter word. Aren't polite people supposed to avoid such a thing?

..Respect to nurses though! They are the best. During college I worked as a nurse's aide, and because emptying bed pans was the precursor to throwing up in a very loud manner in a very quiet hospital, the nurses did it for me. Forever grateful :-) (I could do surgical aide work, when they were sawing off limbs, but poop just fried me.) We get a few nurses in here with their odd hours. And we see a LOT of night owls. Maybe just because we are..here? |

I only drive eight hours a day with a three hour nap after lunch which still falls within my 11/14 rule. Leaving me with a thirteen hour off duty period. Man if this Freightshaker could talk. Hey you started with the lingo Blondey.

Maybe just because we are..here? Same here ... Loved the one day I got to spend in operating theatre! Could handle that, but poop ... Spent half a day at sterilization... amazed to see the ppl there handling all those sharp, blood covered surgical instrument without gloves! Couldn't believe it! And yes, they cut themselves regularly, so they said ER was great too, spent about a week there. Anywhere where the action is, as long as there ain't poop involved, lol. |

I do accounts on a freelance basis, working online and working from home. Long hours, but you get to avoid the daily traffic jams and pays the bills.
Hours are long and we work days & nights.... whenever I can keep my eyes open! It gets worse when the tax datelines looms near and we just rush and rush, while clients keep turning up with last minute documents and demand amendments. |

I couldn't do that job Soufie and i admit it. The hospital where she works and the ward she works on, has a lot of terminally ill kids. She comes home sometimes and just breaks down. That's when i know a kid she's been close to has died. Even through this though she has a good nature to her, a real angel and i know why she chose nursing as her profession, as she's just a good caring human being! Awwww and being around sick kids is just the most heart-rending. A kid came in once, from a motorcycle accident. He had huge swelling of the brain and the resulting disfigurement. Suddenly I was not allowed in his room to straighten up, take his temps/pulse, etc. I asked why? "Because he does not want YOU to see him like this." I was 18 at the time, and he was worried about being seen like that. They are so brave, kids. Heroic in their innocence. |

I know things have come a long ways, but now you just go in and..clean them out with a tube?? I thought it was "Up your nose with a rubber hose." Vinnie Barbarino has some explaining to do. |
