Is jealousy a normal part of a relationship? What does it look like? it's not normal in a healthy relationship. if there are doubts, however unfounded it shows instability and lack of trust |

To a degree, I think it is. But if you can't control it and start acting crazy, it becomes a problem. I've been in serious relationships where i felt a little twinge of jealousy when i see him with another girl, but ultimately, i trusted him, so i brushed it off and let it go.

I think to a certain extent everyone gets a little jealous but if it consumes the relationship its a major problem.

It's quite normal, as long as not too over reacting, at least in my opinion. :D

Can't control the feeling of jealousy, but you can hold back what you may say or do because of it...

What does it look like? it's not normal in a healthy relationship. if there are doubts, however unfounded it shows instability and lack of trust I agree with this entirely, and would like to add that I think it shows possessiveness of your partner/spouse, it cannot be a good thing in a relationship in my opinion. |

I don't think it does much good to villainize (sp?) a trait that is largely instinctual. We are, as humans, animals. In our history, women tended the children, men hunted. Without men, we sacrificed shelter/protection, food, etc. Without women, men couldn't procreate. So a twinge of 'possessiveness,' while not likely to conjure up pleasant perspectives in current times, is understandable.
Thankfully, we've evolved intellectually enough to be able to recognize it as irrational and not *act* on those feelings. |

Jealousy, possessiveness and clinginess are bad traits to have in a relationship. In a way a form of control not healthy at all.A bit of jealousy is normal all depends on the context and how far they take it.You should be able to live your life as you like the right person would appreciate this and you must be able to do the same for them .As long as trust ,loyalty and faithfulness are there then shouldn't be a problem
