I'm just curious MS, your in your bed sleeping and you wake up to realize that there is a intruder in your house.. would you try to talk some sense into the guy, get him to understand that what he is doing is wrong? would you pull a gun on him? Or who you be under your sheets calling 911 and praying that the trigger happy cops ( racist or not) are on their way.

I think you would be on 911 in a heartbeat

you are right, unless or until he was posing a physical THREAT,,(which involves him finding and confronting me),,,

I would be using 911 and remaining quiet, while looking for a way to retreat unnoticed if possible

and if not possible,, the gun would be used to scare him away, unless he decided to THREATEN us instead,,

Going back to what I said a month ago...its easy to bash cops.. very easy...when you don't need one.. but when you do.. they are the most important people in the world. And frankly you ( and everyone else) would care less about the person in that uniform and long as he or she, black or white, racist or not.. was coming in ( guns drawn) to save you and yours

I have never distinguished race amongst cops,, their color is blue

and I do want them to act to SAVE lives(including mine) and not take them,,,(including a robber or unarmed suspect yards away )

unfortunately, I understand the built in NEED to use a gun if one is carrying a gun,, because even if the other person was unarmed,, the fact that they could get your gun instills the fear that most would deem reasonable for taking their lives

Im not bashing police, Im pointing out that too many are unfit for the job and costing lives unnecessarily...

and perhaps the selection process should be more aware of that,,,

Well I don't really believe that you see Police in one color.. blue,

but that aside. I do agree that there is no shortage of bad cops.. I have said that all along. and unfit cops as well. Some( in my opinion) have no business being a cop in the first place. And better training and requalification's need to be done. to include better hiring practices.

And NO ONE is above the law... cop or not. If they kill a person and it is not a justifiable situation, they need to be held accountable for that. Case in point, the guy on Staten Island.. in my opinion.. no defense.. cops were guilty and all involved need to be held accountable.. Cop.. EMS workers. police department & city of N.Y. what happened there was a injustice and a disgrace

with all due respect, you have been here for all of a few days.

go back and read some of my posts and you will find that I by no means have ever defended any cop would committed a crime. And certainly none that was involved in a unjustified killing. In fact just the opposite.

You will find that I am quite outspoken about rouge cops and the current training and monitoring of police forces in general. I feel they need a long over due overhaul with outside state or federal oversight. And I have stated many times that if a cop or and other law officer does in fact commit a crime they need to be held accountable for their actions.. just as any criminal would be.

Bad cops need to be found and removed.. period.

My point was that not all cops are bad. I know cops who are arrogant A-holes.. But I also know many cops who are fine men.. good family Men.

And it is easy to say " just bring up the video of what happened to the homeless man in N. Mexico ( which by the way was terrible and criminal).. but you also should be bringing up the video of that cop in Arizona (I think Arizona) last week, who was shot and killed as he calmly tried to talk to a guy while he was investigating a domestic call. The cop never had a chance to even get his gun out.. as he stood there with his hands out (as to say " don't shoot").. all this caught on his body camera.. his last words and him being shot dead. How would you like to be his family watching that. So let be fair.. o.k.
