Hello
Newbie here..just wondering if people really do read your profile first before sending you a message? I've had a few enquiries BUT the answers to the question is in my profile 
Also what is the general opinion of the dating site?

This has been discussed off and on quite regularly and it seems that a large number of members don't bother reading profiles before they send messages.....
crazy I know and very frustrating and time wasting.... The site is very good and it works....like all dating sites though...be careful and stay safe....

why? anyone can type anything they want, so it's not really a big deal...

I think that 8 out of 10 viewers to my profile do not take the time to read the profile before writing. I figure that they like to look at the pictures and make up the story they think that fits... like a picture book. JMO!

ok, then read the profiles, i don't care either way... you ask then argue??? whats the point of that? people lie about everything, might as well read a childrens fairy tale... good luck to ya, have fun reading... |

I always read the profile before I email because I want to know if there are any common interests.I like mingle because I like to talk with people in different places but as far as locals I guess it depends on the population of your location.

I guess it is true some people don't read the profiles at all.... cos' their messages to you will reveal that they are ignorant of even whereabouts you are, how old you are, and etc etc., all that we have listed down there. Either that......or they can't read, or arrogant like some of the posters here are! But let not that deter you, cos' there are lots of decent real men out here too......nice people, really! Good start...jump into the forums! And stay safe! |

I read a profile if the woman actually has something to SAY... but I'm pretty selective in my search process to begin with, so I only get to a dozen profiles in a search session. That's not too many to read through.
A lot of profiles - men and women - just have one or two lines, or a short list of things they're looking for and offering. That's not really sufficient to get my interest. I'm looking for at least one good paragraph. (This is also helpful to show whether or not she can spell and use grammar and punctuation correctly, which is a pet peeve of mine.) Even if a profile does catch my interest, usually I'll only send a smile/wink/nudge/whatever, as an expression of interest. Then it's up to her to take a look at my profile and see if the interest is mutual. |

Generally yes if there is something to read in the profile to read Depends on how much time I have to spend rereading to find the answer if I missed it the first time reading it. It is a dating site, called mingle2 |
