Topic: Would you be intimidated by a capable woman??

On the road.... when a fast car overtakes you and you find it is a woman and she is not even driving a sports car

Being capable is never a bad thing.
But the driving part does not indicate capability...only poor judgement and impatience.
Few years back, I'm driving down a fairly desolate highway. Conditions were poor..snow and ice.
A woman in an suv went burning by me. I thought "someone's in a hurry to meet Jesus".
And hoped there weren't any children with her.
Sure enough, a little later, I come around a bend, and she's in the ditch. Thankfully still on her wheels.
I stopped, walked up and asked if she was ok.(while looking to see if she had kids..no,thankfully)
I asked her if she learned anything from this.
Holy hell, she went on a rant about stupid roads, stupid ice, blahblahblah.
I said nothing more, hooked up tow rope, pulled her onto road, and sent her on her merry way.
I saw her wedding ring, so I said a prayer for the poor husband that had to deal with that.

And btw...if it had been a man driving, I wouldn't have been so nice.

Story trade...

Met my gall pal for shopping and lunch at a nearby shopping plaza a couple of years ago...As we approach our cars, I noticed a car with a flat tire and a woman standing by it talking on her cell phone...There were two teenage girls in the backseat and another adult woman in the front....I asked her if she was OK..."No, I can't reach my boyfriend."..."Do you have a spare?", I asked..."I think so.". she replied...insert whoa here...She had a spare, but no toolsohwell ...From my trunk and my friend Tea's, I found what I needed and proceeded to change her tire...All four tires were so tread bare the cords were visible!shocked ...I asked her how far she was from home and told her to stay off the Interstate, go home and park her car until she put proper tires on it....I was hot and tired and pizzed so I wasn't thinking straight...I should have called the police and reported her for child endangerment...As for changing the tire...Thank you for teaching me how daddy!

In the office.... when she is the one going up the corporate ladder instead of you
On the road.... when a fast car overtakes you and you find it is a woman and she is not even driving a sports car
In a trade.... if she is better with the hammer than you/ better at cars & repairs/ better at mechanics/ etc..

Do you allow this to affect your relationship, or will you not even consider a relationship?

Or do you just prefer a woman who is totally dependent on others!

If she was better with a hammer, i'd get her a job as a Carpenter, with my mate. Strong women don't scare me, as my mums one. It's what i'm used to. Work doesn't bother me either, as she would have to be a very good earner, to out-earn me!

Yeah, I agree... not only women do that, men does too!
I know of some men who are devils behind the wheels..and forbid if anyone ever overtakes them!!! I once threatened to jump off a car cos' he was hellbent on catching up and overtaking that car. I was in the car and scared. And then other times, the children were in the car too.

I like to drive fast, but am a careful person.....drive fast only on safe stretches, and only on roads I am familiar with.

I had to learn all on my own by observing...... but I'm afraid sometimes I can't handle the brute strength required. I call for help when that happens.

I don't really look women who outclass me by far as a relationship potential. I assume it would be waste of their time and mine to try. But half the global population are women so- there should be enough choice on the same step of the ladder that I'm standing on.

Good for you. Capable men never does have to worry.

My mum's a strong woman too, but not as in brute strengh.... she is small and petite! But she brought us all up as my dad was never really around, working elsewhere. So, I do have some of her traits.
(but no..... not good with the hammer, but good at supervising at construction sites, reading plans, and what nots!)

op a long time ago I can only think of one women boss ...
she did not like me although
I tried to do every thing she asked of me ...
and in my thinking I loved her boss lol he was really cool and older
so about that time he took me under is wing and started showing me more to learn what I had to do ... he was a more understanding person with no ego ...so that meant I learn the job a lot faster and way better then under her ... would i not date anyone that did not know as much as I do with certain things ... all depends on what it was he did not know ... and what kind of attitude he had ... and Dodo_David
lmao ...

Mystical....I have had the fortune to have 2 bosses who taught me what I know now. No amount of tertiary education quite measures up to on hands training. And both were men....kind, understanding, patient and eager to impart their knowledge. I learn from them, and then taught my subordinates....I have trained quite a number of them, some who are 'non-technical' people! And they are the hardest to train. It all takes patience, but most important, they must be willing to learn.

Now not all of us are handy with a tire iron or hammer, or even want to be. Hi Leigh waving flowers Maybe we don't all want to be strong career women either. Just because we can make a mean sandwich, yes mrhall we have established that you are very thirsty and hungry, like to sew or take pride in the value of caring domestically for a man, that automatically makes us weak, clingy, shy, unintelligent and irresponsible females? I agree with the gentleman that stated generalizations are not wise. I was an IT professional and primary bread winner for 21 years but I am done and would love to find a man that wants to do that. I prefer driving a 4x4 jeep very fast and offroad but when I go home my man will change the dang oil or take it to the garage and the kitchen is my domain so I dont think it's fair to classify all women one way. She is now officially done with rant.
