I've wanted to ask this fo awhile,but really did not want to let any one know how bad it is.With out writting a novel,my 23 yr. old son is on a path of destruction,he will end of dead or in jail those our the choices I see for him now.BonnyMiss wrote Reflections Of A Mother awhile back and it helped me to know I have done all I can as his mother,but that does not mean the pain is any less.I pray for him daily for yrs. now so ant prayers you can offer will be appreciated.I need to take some time from here,I'm worn out from trying the tough love and everything eles for him.Thanks Pam

pkh its hard as a mother to be tough when all you want to do is take care of your child... Lik Bttrfly said.. Have faith and know that God wont give you more then you can handle. I to am a single mother of 3 grown children and I thank God every day that I dont have to go thru the issues that some mothers have and had to go thru. My prayers are with you.. and You know sometimes a pray chain can really work wonders!!.. Lets all pray for both pkh, her son, and her family!!.

You should never feel bad for asking for prayer for the people you love.......I am a mother of a 21 year old that I thought for a time would end up the way you think yours will. I prayed and begged for prayer all the time. I want to let you know that prayer works. My son is now in the Navy and is an MP. Can you believe it?........ a young man headed for jail is now a cop. Don't give up, and know that this mother is praying for your son as so many prayed for mine

Pam sweetheart, I truly understand the pain you are in.
My son has put our family through so much with his addictions, and as a mother, it is one of the most painful things we could ever go thru in our life.
I have learned no matter what you say or do , it falls on deaf ears until they themselves decide it is time to stop their inevitable path of destruction, but as you said it does not make the pain any less.
Please dont give up on him...I know you are sooooo tired.
Hopefully one day he will want better for himself, and realize what it is doing to him, and the ones who love him so.
My prayers go out to him, and you ....right now that is about all you can do, since you have done all you know how to.
I want you to know I am here for you, if you need to vent, or talk to someone that has been there, and still is.....

Pam, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I've been through this with my own daughter. At times you just feel so beat down and emotionally drained, but somewhere deep inside we muster the strength go keep going. My faith in God kept me afloat, so keep the Faith and hopefully your son will get his life turned around soon.

Wow... I read your words and thought I wrote them! However my son is 18, and recently WAS arrested. I sent you an email. You are NOT alone and I'm so glad you found the courage to post this thread because I sat praying today hoping I would find someone who has been down this road.

Been there and done that. You need to rest.

Unfortunately they do not allways go down the right path.
No matter how well we raise them.
He may turn around someday- when he does you will be there.

with your precious Son...Pam...

There are a lot of changes that young people go through
to finally " Get it"...I sure put my Mom through hell...

My kids have gone through many changes and they are
finally doing very very well, in their early 30's...

But, not without a lot of trials and tribulations...

I will keep you both in my prayers and ask for God's
divine intervention and a spiritual awakening, wisdom
and maturity for your son and greater ability for love,
understanding and dedication to one another...
