How much do you worry or care about your weight?

I gave up worrying about my weight yonks ago, accepted my body, loving the way I look.
Recently I changed my diet. And .. I started to lose weight .. so fast that I wasn't happy ohwell .. so I started eating more, to stabilize it. Losing a bit, okay, but not too fast. Succeeded. Phew, relief!

But now .. I'm going through "nothing really tastes right" (still having to get used to my new diet). So I've been eating less and OMG, almost 2 kilos gone in one week!! Mommy! scared

Now I'm not anorexic, so there's places where I can 'afford' to lose some.. but it also goes from places that you are happy with ..

Not sure if I gotta be happy or worried now .. Happy my jeans is sliding down my bum, worried about other body parts

I gave up worrying years ago.
Lifes too short and I have a theory, some may not agree, but I think the stress of worrying about weight does you more harm than the actual weight does, unless a person is hugely obese of course.
saying that, I do go to the gym a few times a week but that is more to get me out of the house than through trying to stay fit.

I slide up and down about 5 -8 lbs. for no apparent reason. Maybe it is due to running around.. not eating right at times.. stress.. travel.. who knows. I would do the same thing you do.. eat more or less depending on what was going on.

Then I just stopped thinking about it or trying to figure out why and accepted it. It still happens, but it doesn't bother me. I just accept the fact that my weight is between this.. and that.. and I feel better.

I don't understand some women that will be looking so good yet they want to lose\gain weight.....i know quite a lot of women like that who will be looking so sexy and gorgeous, yet they would want to change this and that.

Losing weight too fast is never healthy especially for your skin....and as it is you already look good crystalfairy

I've lost 70 pounds a couple of times on Atkins diet. My downfall is bread. I just look at it and gain 5 pounds. It's the carbs. I had changed my diet due to stress and allergies at the time. Honestly, I think I was allergic to my ex. laugh

But yeah, never liked going down a size in my bra. ohwell

Thank you, Romeo blushing
Thing is, I'm not TRYING to lose weight ... I just AM..
I changed diet because it helps my hyper-laxity (no more pork, potatoes etc, but rice, chicken in its stead) ... side-effect is that I lose weight, which was not my goal at all ...
And I was shocked at the speed .. Like I said, I deliberately eat more to try and at least slow it down ..

Good thing is, I can now pig out, lol.

Yeah, I'm one of those people that doesn't put on weight and can eat whatever I like, as far as that goes I'm afraid.

Mentioned it in one of your other threads I think but I can still get into 28 inch waist leather jeans and was wearing that size when I was a teenager. I do wear a 30 inch waist for comfort though.

So, it's not something that I give a crap about basically and I drink beer and eat junk food. Did try "health food" diets when I was in my twenties but that was actually becoming like an eating disorder because I was thinking about what I was eating all of the time.

I stopped worrying about my weight over three decades ago because when I hit my 30's I noticed my jeans were getting tight around the waist even though I wasn't gaining weight...That was all it took!,...I began to pay closer attention to my diet, stopped smoking, and started working out...Rapid weight loss is never a good thing Crystal...You lose too much muscle mass and it slows down your metabolism (the rate at which your body converts calories into energy)...Metabolic rate is largely influenced by five things, genetics, age, physical activity, what, how much and WHEN you eat, and body mass composition (fat to muscle to water ratio)...Three of these things can be tweaked or redesigned to speed up metabolic rate ...Give or take 4 or 5 pounds, I have maintained the same weight and clothing size for over 30 years by eating six small meals a day and exercising regularly...Over the years my diet has not changed much, but I've changed up my exercise program many time to keep from getting bored...About 13 years ago I discovered the magic of pilates and, for me, it's a keeper!...I do a quick 30 or 45 minute routine six days a week...I also walk Emmie Dog every day and I ride my bike when weather permits or the mood strikes me...Emmie goes too...I have a little pouch mounted on the handle bars and it's just big enough for her fat azz!laugh laugh ..If you're losing weight faster than you think you should, maybe see your doctor?...Better safe than sorry...Above all, take care of you!!...flowerforyou

You may want to have your Thyroid checked. A thyroid that is not working right will cause pretty rapid weight changes.

I had a family member who went thru this.. weight up.. down.. up.. down.. then stayed down.. too skinny down.

Some simple tests found the problem which was fixed with meds. She is now back to her " normal" weight.. and has been for a few years.

yes got to agree with some of the people here if you are losing weight without dieting or exercising it could be a hyperactive thyroid ,Graves disease (which is thyroid) , or diabetes. So might want to go to doctor to be checked out. jmo

Losing weight and getting fit is possible at any age.
When my wife died I weighed over 340 pounds. I've lost 160 pounds and all the health problems that went along with it.
I've been keeping it off going on 5 years now.
No diet, no doctors, no pills, no exercise, no calorie counting.
If I can do it at my age anyone can.
Now I'm looking for someone to share my life with.

Personally it is very important to maintain the ratio of weight to height. I would prefer to be about 7 kg's less than my maximum weight to height. It is not just diet (todays economy many people cannot afford to eat properly), but also activity. Like a variety in your diet activity is the same way.

example for legs and butt: doing squatts and climbing is great to strengthen and maintain form.
