At some point, one will have to move to the other, in order for it to continue.
If you can't cope, see this thread http://mingle2.com/topic/413726 |

The only way a long distance relationship is going to work is if you are both 100% dedicated to each other. Considering the stats on divorce these days...good luck finding someone dedicated enough lol

talking seriously now , i guess that LDR are too difficult to maintain and keep alive , relationship needs a "sensual" communications to keep its fire on .
humans have needs , and these needs should be fulfilled by the ones we love , and when those whom we love are far away , we may look for another "source" to answer our needs , which brings the LDR to its end . |

it never worked for me. I think people have to see, touch and interact in order for a relationship to truly work. That can't be done with a LDR despite the best intensions.
Actually, I have never heard of it working. One or both will drift apart. |

I do not believe in long distance relationships. I wouldn't even try.

How do you handle your Long Distance Relationship ?? any comments for me .. thanks. we handle it very well.....but it takes work..... we only have a two hour time difference, which helps.... we have a few months to go, before we are finally together.... we started our own thread here mingle2.com/topic/412613?page=1..... primarily to let everyone know of our status..... and to hopefully provide inspiration to others..... but 90% of our our communication is off site..... there is a wonderful app called Viber..... that lets you text, chat, send pics, videos, and links..... we are its biggest users..... we are meeting in person in approx two weeks..... and again early next year..... summing up.... you get out of it what you are willing to put into it.... |

by dividing the distance between the tow partners by 2 , and looking for the nearest cafe at the created break point to meet . You may end up settling for an oil rig ... if these come with a cafe, it won't be the most romantic setting I think an LDR can only work if "LD" is short term. In other words: you gotta meet - preferably not on an oil rig - and stay together. LDR as a way of life, not an option. |

Well Skype, Facetime, IM.......these all help. But at the core of an LDR lies the fact that both people have to want it and both have to put in 100% to make it work.

Anyway LDR is really difficult but it doesn't mean its impossible..just maintain an emotional connection, do things together, and chat while playing, it will give a great feeling of togetherness .. |

It can only work as well as the two people want it too. you are the only two to know, nobody can tell you yes or no. we are made all different. If that is where my heart was i would do whatever it took to make it work as long as my better half was on the same page with me.

Quite honestly LDR could work provided there is a little trust in the relationship. Their discussion should basically be on mutual co-existence in discovering what they sincerely wanted in building a quality and rewarding courtship. And of importance is getting to know each other likes and dislikes which would help a great deal in discovering the passion they intend sharing:)
