Actually, you can do a lot more hunting online,
send resumes and get responses before you have gone to a lot of effort visiting job sites. Of course, you are one of many more that way, and if you are a great interviewer you may waste some of that :-) |

You are still young enough where that should not be a problem.
It is us "old fogies" that would have more worries because they treat us like we are expendable, like trash that they just throw away and replace us with younger folks. Out here in Cali, it is called "at will " employment. |

Don't look at it like a chore, look at it like an actual job.
designate 8 hours in the day to spend in job hunting, set goals such as apply to one job every hour, take a lunch, and at the end of the 8 hours STOP, and start again the next say. not only will you get more accomplished this way, you will also be getting ready for the routine once you get the job. |

It isn't the job hunting that is stressful.
It is the need to hunt for a job that is stressful. |

why is it so stressful ? It's only as stressful as you make it. |

It's not as stressful as spending a whole lot of money that you don't have to spear on Bus and Train fare on a job you may not get. Keep shopping on-line it just may work out for you. Good Luck and God's speed in your search for meaningful employment. |

why is it so stressful ? because it is highly competitive with so many resumes being sent for those jobs, and their being posted on so many different job boards, and you have to send out SOO SOO many sometimes before even getting a bite,,, its very stressful |

Job hunting is a big game that sucks your identity from every fibre of your soul. The resume is tailored to make you fit what "The Man" is looking for. Nothing or nobody is really as they appear during the initial, getting to know the place.
The worst part is waiting for the bogus degrees, certificates and references to clear the screening. Ya, trying out to be the dentist for me was way harder than cheerleader. |

why is it so stressful ?
"Stress" is another way of saying "more energy is needed to figure out what is going on and/or do something." People like to hoard their energy. That's what happens when most of human history is "if you chase it down and kill it, you eat, otherwise you don't eat, if you don't eat you die." People like to be efficient. Anything that excites you out of a resting or normalized state is going to cause "stress." The more you have to think and establish new norms, methods, boundaries, the more energy you have to exert. So why is online job hunting more stressful? You aren't offered the safety of the group to hunt. The group isn't handing you help or something you are used to handling every day that you can simply go out and get one. You are sitting there staring at a screen. All by yourself. You have to exert more energy in thinking, going out, determining your prey, figuring out the boundaries of where your efforts should be focused, of figuring out the "right" way to camouflage yourself in your achievements, keeping short term goals while being mindful of long term ones, over thinking the dangers. Plus, you don't really get an immediate carcass laid at your feet if you do it "right." If you do it "right" then nothing may happen at all. Or you may get a job interview. And that just starts the second level, which you are aware of and over-thinking during the previous steps. |

HaHaHa I can just see you in a cheerleading outfit and pom-poms :D Maybe lose the beard and then you would nail it, for sure @Kissablekiss I think ^he just happened to find your ideal job there, as you would make a fine cheerleader. You have the killer body for it and think of all the fun you could have, interviewing for it.....lmao.....brings a whole new meaning to the phrase 'How high can you jump?' <--that becomes a serious question in your case... I'm not here to add to your stress, just kidding around, trying to add some light relief to a very serious and life-impacting situation. @ Cirecom and @Issac are offering good advice imo |
