Is it true that your manner is base on what level you've reached in your education?

Up to a point. There are many some people well educated, academically, with terrible manners. Specially when we study some pure sciences.

Also, the more u study the less u know. You will know more about one area, but the general academic field will fall through the cracks unless u make an effort to continue it.

Absolutely not. Some of the rudest people I've encountered were well educated, and often their manners were a superficial show, lacking in sincerity.

you gain your . concept of good manners.. from your parents.or whoever raised you.... hence the term what were you ,raised in a barn..
.. education teaches you etiquette.. good form... social. graces...

Nah. A person can have a doctorate and still act like a jerk.

No. There's some student nurses who treat patients like they're naive. Well they're not. You can just feel really negative energy when they enter your room. Why the hell they got their job, I'll never understand.

I've also witnesses many horrid teachers.

no. manners are learned separately from education, although the educational environment can either reinforce or negate the manners learned

someone can never attend school and have wonderful manners, but someone else can have a doctorate and have few,,,,,

I find it comical that nearly every person in here perceived the question to equate it to saying "higher education means better mannered" Could she have meant that the higher your education the less mannered you are? By manners does she mean a show of class and sophistication as opposed to "Redneck hillbillies"?

People with higher education are better about putting on "airs," where as people with less education hold less value in what others see in them. Or so it seems to me.

Actually for me both coz we need education too,, but mostly manner is best:-)

Manner is best. Teaching good manner begins at home then at schools.
Roger Moore said; "Teach love, generosity, good manners and some of that will drift from the classroom to the home and who knows, the children will be educating the parents."

Education does not come into play when it comes to manners, you either have them or you don't.

Manners are picked up and learned from our environment

its not about caring what others think, so much as being considerate of others,,,,,

it seems to me we have to select manners, no matter who we are, to live in the grown up world


we do it all the time once we grow up,, we care about the impression we make to get a job,

why is it any more of an 'air' to care about the impression we leave on children watching us or neighbors who have to share our environment?

I do consider it 'airs' only if its intentionally put on as an act and not a true part of how we choose to carry ourself

Both are essential but if there are people who are well mannered and does have a high education then i salute to them..

yeah i agree... because lots of high educated people are so rude.. i dont know if its just beacause they think they are the greatest people on earth and they can manipulate some people....

Heck no..... manners come from how they are taught at a very young age before their education even starts. Then it all depends on how they use what they were taught....

no ... I agree it starts with your home life as a child... then when some become knowledgeable grown up lets say ...they think they are better then others and can be mean and abusive to others becouse of the title... they may have at the time ... and looked upon as many kinds of language... words use to call them for being selfless and rude ...
