Sometimes you can be within arms reach of someone and still be 1000 miles away....

How many have experienced that?

I moved from Canada to Germany then the UK for love. It ended but if i had to do it all over again ...I wouldn't change a thing. older wiser and more worldly than I was.

Does distance really matter that much? I guess i have been badluck liking people who are miles apart, are there any guys here willing to work through the distance and getting to meet up in the near future?

You can travel to the other side of the world in a day by public transport, distance is no longer an issue. Long distance relationships can be good because you both can find out a lot about each other by Skype, telephone calls, and emails. before you even decide if you want to meet up. The downside is you need to meet and date several times before you really know if they are the one for you, and this would cost a lot in time and money in travelling to meet up. A long distance relationship certainly needs a lot more effort, but they can and do work, if the two people involved want them to work.

Welcome to Mingle2 and Good Luck in your search.

Distance doesn't matter if what connects you is genuine. However, if you don't have some plan to eventually get together in the long run, it can be very taxing on the psyche for both parties.
I have been in a long distance relationship and therefore spent most of my time seeking a way to interact - laptop at home, phone when I'm out, it can have the positive sides of having more than enough "me-time", meeting your friends more often etc, but it is very hard when you cannot experience the simplest of things - to look into your loved one's eyes, to reach out and touch them, hug them, hear their voice or feel the warmth of their physical presence, even if you are not discussing anything in particular.
It all comes down to this: Do you love that person? Are they worth the inevitable hardships of such relationship? Will any of you consider relocating to be with the other?

If you are willing to embark on this journey then one of you has to be 100% willing to relocate.
