I'm not for rushing into having sex or relationships. being intimate with someone should happen when it feels right not when you've checked your calendar to see if enough days has passed.

My point is that I think the art of courting and dating has been lost. I'm just trying to preserve my standards in this new dating age.... Oh absolutely, these days people want it all immediately or don't want anything to do with it. What ever happened to the as you said "courting". What happened to the going out to dinners together, getting to know one another, and building something strong before they jump in bed with one another?

Speaking for myself, I don't have a problem with your point of view, I can even respect it as you being who you are...Doesn't mean I have to agree with you though....Using rules, time constraints, or manipulated feelings to ensure the "art" of dating IMO is doing just the opposite by undermining feelings and honesty....And NewlySingle is right, it's what each of us feels comfortable with... @ NewlySingle... I don't like feeling forced by any mans idea of when I have to share myself. It could be a day.a week or months. It's fine if they move on. At different times in my life I wanted different sorts of relationships. Nothing wrong with knowing what you prefer and sticking to it.

The cake being the relationship and the icing as a benefit of that relationship. Regardless...The relationship needs time to flourish and build a good foundation. When you are in love...You make love. When you're not in love...It's just sex. If it takes 90 days or 90 minutes to fall in love...THAT'S when it's time to enjoy your desert.
