then what the he(k is everyone doing here? (and on other dating-sites)
Many stated in another topic ("WHY are you single?") that it's what they prefer or what best suits their life/personality etc. If that really is true, then you wouldn't be on a dating-site. So ... If you are happy to be single and it suits you best blablar, why are you here (or on any dating-site for that matter)? |

Because it's more than just a dating site, it's a social site. If this site was only intended for dating they wouldn't have Friends as one of the options, it would only be dating you could choose. I've made friends on here and I'd rather communicate with them here over places like FB.

Yeah, you got the timing all wrong, haha. It's dinner time, not morning! (jk) I'm cooking dinner as we speak, starving! Not just about Mingle, sure the forums here are different. But I wonder how many ppl here are a member of other dating-sites as well, ones without forums. Just trying to establish whether ppl really really really are okay with being single and not looking at all. For me it's an in betweeny. I'm happy being single, but I do hope to find someone at some point. So I do 'keep an eye out' so to speak. |

Humm could be cause this is not just a dating site..... this is a Social/Dating Site it has never been just a Dating site....
Even though many of us are happy being single does not mean we are not open to dating... Most single people still like the company of others be it just friends or dating at times... As far as the forums this is more of the Social part of the site... Those that are strictly here to date spend more of their time searching profiles for what they are looking for... But I have seen many within the forums get to know one another and end up dating, living together and even getting married... Just because many of my friends are couples I do not eliminate myself from being around them because I'm single. So why eliminate myself from being around those that are searching for a date more then I do? Besides here I'm only on Facebook.......... |

Attempting to annoy certain people.
 I'm not on any other dating site, and I am wanting to date eventually. Just now is not the time for me to attempt to persue dating, so in the meantime I'm on here for friends and enjoying the conversations being had in the forums.

I'm on this site primarily to socialize with other people. The other site that I was on has deteriorated a great deal in the forum department.
I did a date a couple of people from that other site. One relationship lasted a while. The other has just started and may or may not go anywhere. |

I'm only here for the forums now. I'm also on an irish forum website. My stepdad joked to me, that if I join any scottish one's he'll chop my arms off, as we're northern irish, so yeah. It gives me a much larger chance of meeting other irish people, and then we can arrange meet-ups. As I'm not sure where else I could find other irish people. I'm on quite a few irish dating site's.

The site didn't start as a dating site, and hasn't really adopted itself fully as a dating site...More like Facebook, less like eHarmony.
I'm here for the friends I have made through the years, and have generally accepted that there are very few women that want to date a raging anarchist with an odd fascination with fire and stoops. |

Well, I've never made any bones about the fact that I'm not entirely happy being single. Believe it or not though, I came on this site to meet women and I do that instead of saying that I'm not that bothered. It's hard to say how bothered that I am about it just now though. I have been trying to concentrate more on just being happy in myself recently. and this is the only dating site that I'm active on and that's mainly just for the forums. After it didn't work out with the first one that I met on here I stayed for the forums and all of the dates that I've had since then I got without even really trying. So, that's it basically. I'm just taking it as it comes and trying not to worry about it. I've become doubtful about a relationship ever coming from this but it's not impossible and I personally find it a lot easier to be happy about being single when I'm meeting women.
