Topic: a bible's summary | |
---|---|
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Absolutely perfect love.

Dear Kat:
That should not apply just to couples. That should apply to the whole human race. If we can learn just that from the bible this world would not be as f u c k e d up as it is. |

we don't need to find out why women can't preach through the bibles or who messed it up eve or adan or if the bible is an archaic book or if everything in there is myth if we just remember this few words we don;t need to read the rest of it |

“That should apply to the whole human race. If we can learn just that from the bible this world would not be as f u c k e d up as it is” Why do we need to learn love from the Bible? There are a myriad of sources where love can be learned. Sages, philosophers, poets and dreamers have been preaching the ways of love for millennia. As have countless millions of common folk. The Bible holds no unique or special claim on love. Would you reject the natural love that came directly from a person’s heart? |

My dear James. We have too many sources where we can learn about love. Nevertheless, we are still f u c k e d up as a human.
Dear James, but why do u close ur mind. Why do u get so defensive when I mentioned the bible. |

“Why do u get so defensive when I mentioned the bible.” Because to me it’s the symbol of egotistical hypocrisy. Why do you need to come to me with love in a book? Do you not have love in your heart? |

Love ... in motion ... live it ... be it ... do it ...
Wherever you find it ... from your upbringing ... from friends ... from strangers ... from a book ... it doesn't matter. What matters is that we recognize that love is not just a fancy notion of something that happens to us. It is who we are when we shed the nonsense of who we are not. It is a verb ... |

James we do have different set of values.
Sages, philosophers, poets, and dreamers teachings (most of them are written in a book) if not we would not have access to their teachings. am i right? so if it's about the form. whatever the source is they r written. Yes, I do have love in my heart. Human Love. What is in the bible described it's the sublime version of love. The love that at least I struggle every day to reach. What do you think that allows me to here everyday, and just patienly read how what i love is bashed. I love the bible, and you call it the symbol egostistical hypocrisy. And I still see you as my brother, and i respect you immensely. Why is all that? because it is what i have learnt from the bible |

“What do you think that allows me to here everyday, and just patiently read how what i love is bashed.” What has been bashed my friend? Have you ever heard me say a bad word about Jesus? If you think you have you are sadly mistaken. If Jesus were here today I would greet him as my brother and he would embrace me and kiss me on the cheek. You might turn to Jesus and say, “But Lord, this man has denounced you!” Jesus would turn to you and say, “No, you are mistaken, this man has never once betrayed me”. |

you are probably right.
That is why i see you as my brother. i would not like that My Lord turns his back to me. Because i didn't love one of my brothers, just because we don't share the same beliefs. |

... my guess is that if the same teachings were in his textbook instead of the bible he would embrace it wholeheartedly. To admit that there is truth in the bible teachings is to admit a creator... or at least suggests it.
This is simply too much of a strech, as it means we should have morals in our daily lives. I just dont see anything in the bible that is unacceptable as far as guidance goes. his laws are not grevious. they can only lead to a cleaner healthier lifestyle... so whats the problem? its not the message, its the source that seems to be the problem. |

2 Timothy 3: 16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: While loving your fellow man is what we are commanded to do, only through accepting Jesus Christ as our savior can we find salvation. To throw away the rest of the Bible and only cling to one verse would lead the faithful down the wrong road. |
