“Look Before You Leap”



Do you know what you’re looking for?
Look and listen to what they have in store.
I have sat back and watched each day.
Just watching and learning to survey.
The ones that will say what they want.
Actually it all seems nonchalant.
They always say just what one wants to hear.
Just to rid you of the fear.
Once they seem to get all your attention.
Then they leave you in suspension.
You sit back and wonder why.
After all the things they did imply.
They twist your words and walk away.
Did they only see you as prey?
Do they not even care what they do?
Do others not sit back and view?
Cause just as soon as they are free.
They are back on there hunting spree.
Do they not even wonder why?
The one you were just with you said by.
Do they only go on what that one told?
Don’t they think there might have been things untold?
All they hear is the talk of romance.
It seems to put them in a hypnotic trance.
They only hear the words that you say.
Until one day you decide to walk away.
Then they will ask some one please tell me.
How come I did not see?
I thought everything was okay.
Do you see now you were only prey?
