HEY! This is right up my alley. I just made Art Teaching my major in college. Next week we are pouring out bronze sculptures, then we have a nude model coming in so we get to sculpt with clay and ahve a final project of assemlage art!
Whoo hooo.....can't wait to see what everyone is doing. ANYTHING can be art!

Walker- if you consider what you do an art then you belong! I feel that all creative processes are in their own right art.
I also believe it is human nature to be creative, though so many people don't feel connected to their artistic sides and don't feel comfortable doodling or painting or anything else. Spread the word- be confident in yourself and create something! It's great therapy.

Before I went into teaching, I worked as a painter and home decorator, I upholster and restore old furniture,I also make curtains and if it is machinable I do it. As a hobby, I play with Paint Shop Pro, PhotoImpact and make letter stats for Incredimali and Outlook Express. Is this art, I wonder ?

Artiste...create, be.
Words.sketches, painting, music, poetry, heart. Children, they are my greatest creation.... the rest is outlet....anything, anything I can take from one form, and help it become more of itself I love...sculpting, mosaic, sewing, knitting is a new one, weaving, leadlighting, beading, pottery... as many diverse recycled and natural materials as possible. Felting last week, thanks to some generous cashmere and angora goats.

I used to free form embroider, creating a pattern from pictures, when my kids were little...however I am a little too busy headed...and busy bodied at the moment...summer is coming..

This week I get to start two comissioned paintings...yay! (even though I would have done it next to free)
I am doing 2 (small) 10x13 canvas' for someones nursery! and the only details given were to paint childrens toys...blocks or teddies etc and the rest is up to me!!! I seldom ever get to pick what I want to paint and what colors and styles I want Wooo! I'll post the pics when I get done!

I am crochetting a camoflague blanket for my son right now! I only know the simple stiches (double and single) and I know how to make roses. But I could use some advice! Id love to make more creative blankets...do you know how to make the popcorn stich or the shell stitch? I hate reading those abbreviated directions! |
