Yeah, me too. But what if you're getting bored with the responses? Do you just carry on regardless?

Henry Kissinger once said:
"The good thing about being a celebrity is, when the
conversation gets boring, they never think it is me."

Honestly I just find something else to talk about till I find something we both have a opinion on...

I used to be in a chatroom years ago.
When no one else was there I would talk to myself
and make up the other person's responses.
It was pretty funny.
People would enter the room just to watch.

I daresay TxsGal and I in a room together would
use up all the available air :-)

Some people were just born to chat.
Some can't figure it out.
Seems simple to those of us who can chatter
with anyone at all.

Then again, listening is an art form.
I would develop that if the yakking doesn't
come to you easily :-)

Also, if the other person is boring you, you
might dig into them a wee more until you find
something interesting about them.

Everyone has something about them worth learning :-)

U smile and talk about the other persons family or fav movies or whatever. People want to talk about themselves. Having the right questions can lead to having a great date

well, my old maw always said when people say they're bored it just means they're boring.

reckon the conversation may get boring to a person because they got nothing "entertaining" to say.

if you can't amuse yourself how do you expect anyone else to?

uhn, uhn, smack that, smack that

Yeah, fair enough and people that know me say that I'm a good conversationalist or raconter but with some people I just get a bit bored with the small talk and the veneer of reserved politeness and I will come out with something to cut through that. Call it using humour as an offense mechanism. . For example; I was at a party recently and we were talking about Facebook and I said that I only really go on there to stalk women. My last girlfriend described my sense of humour as my "serious but not serious thing".

If it's someone I get along well with and conversation is lacking, it shouldn't be tough to switch to another subject. If it's someone I'm just chatting with for the first time on a site like this, I'd probably let it go if it wasn't interesting.

In person, I first wait to if it is a natural break in the conversation. If not I try to say something funny to get things going again, usually it's not a problem.

I'm new to these sites so not sure what I'd do, but I now what I'll try

Yeah, what's that

You know, the have a conversation with yourself thing.

Oh, they'll think your crazy

They probably already do

Oh that's mean

What? Why?

You're always saying things like that

Don't generalize, I don't always say things like that

Oh, so now we're gonna fight, here, in front of all these nice people

No no.....um...ok, I'm not ssaying what I said was wrong, but I do see your point

You're Right, this is fun. Ha, who needs you people? I'm taking my new friend out for coffee. Bye. noway whose paying?

I'll pay

Ok, but I'll pay next time

Oh, there'll be a next time?

We'll see
love smooched
