Topic: Statutory rape should not be a legal issue. | |

not only should statutory rape laws remain but they should be strengthened. If you are an adult and not certain your partner is Old Enough under the law, then they probably are not old enough and you have no biznezz there....under the law or otherwise. If you are having sex with someone you do not know well enough to know enough about them to know their age you are probably in the wrong. period. If you take that chance you may pay the piper. be ready....most guys know the law here so no sympathy plus there are other related deliquency of a minor charges here if a 14 y/o is having an abortion she should have to declare the father to do so...and if he over 18....come on out shootin' just my thought And you were carded before you got naked when? Sex is not buying booze. Let's switch the flip. You're in a club and you seeone hot checking you out. Theysend the waitress over to you with a drink before they approach you. You spend the night drinking with them, and take them home, only to find out the next morning, that they're late for school. Turns out you just bedded a 16 year old wearing beer (or martini) goggles. How much time should you do? Whatever the judge decides based on that states requirements and the merits of case as presented....If you are stupid enough to let a minor pick you up, if you are dumb enough to have sex with a stranger, you could find yourself in a similar predicament.... I wouldn't complain... As long as she gets prosecuted for possession of the fake ID she used to get into the club, and the underage drinking she engaged in while in the club AND fraud for falsely presenting herself to be of age in an establishment where it was illegal for her to be. That should equal at least if not more time in jail than I would get. A felony is a criminal charge that is DEFINED in terms of possible punishment...It almost always starts with an arrest...Once "a police report" is presented to the District Attorney's Office, they decide what charges (if any) should be filed...Police may also investigate a crime and identify a suspect and, rather than arrest that person, present the case to the DA who in turn files charges...Either way, the charges are decided by the DA, not the victim, not the judge, and certainly not the police or the perpetrator...In law, anyone under the age of majority is considered a juvenile...Typical age is 18, but can vary depending on jurisdiction and application...Federal government declares the official age of majority is 18, states have the right to implement a different age...The distinction between a juvenile and an adult is different and so carries different prosecution efforts...Juveniles are tried in juvenile court and the juvenile court system does not include adult incarceration unless the court decides that, due to the seriousness of the crime (usually a violent crime), said child will be tried as an adult...If you don't understand why the primary focus of a juvenile court systems is to rehabilitate as opposed to punish a child, perhaps the best safety precaution FOR YOU would be to avoid having consensual or nonconsensual sex with minors... |

Well there are "laws" and lawyers to justify about everything criminal in the United States! Then there is "The Parents Law"! In my opinion i raised my Daughter to know right from wrong and "Was" the Father!! Let the pervert or little puppy come sniffing and i deal with it "personally" and believe me i've kicked a many"puppy azz"in front of my Daughter!! The Hell with any law that says i can't raise my Children or protect them!! That is what a REAL PARENT does! She was raised by knowing the consequences of her actions as well!! My daughter is 33,Married,2 children, with Selfrespect and Morals, and the same attitude as me!! That is something to be Proud of in todays society!! To this day i would Give up my Freedom or Life for my family. Todays Laws are for the Criminals anyway!! That would make you an extremely rare breed in today's world. Very few take responsibility for their actions, they just turn that over to the state, hence the mess we are in. |

Good synopsis of the criminal corporate court system. But I have a few questions: 1) Under what authority do they operate? 2) How can the state be an injured party? I think you will find the answers to both questions to be one and the same. |

Anyone having Sex with a minor is A Pervert/Predator anyway!! Nomatter if they are Man or Woman!! That's a little broad don't you think. Sex is a matter of nature and as such is a driving force of many young people. It is up to the parents to instill a sense of morality in their young. But where I do agree is that an adult praying on a minor is a pure perverted act unless the parents have given their blessing for a permanent union. But even then, the protection of the minor is a civil matter to be handled by the parent, not the state unless an act of trespass has occurred. |

Mohammed wouldn't like today's statutory rape or child molestation laws.
Y'all believe, there really are billions of perverts who adore that child rapist? In Mexico, if the gal is like 13 and the dude is in his 30's, he could get off with just a fine. Payment to the family, 100.00 and the judge, 20.00. |

The ones who don't have the cash, go to jail until someone comes up with the payment. Many have been incarcerated for years or time served. |

Wow, just like here except here they get to work for prison industries for 25 cents an hour. And who says the US doesn't have slave labor. Gives new meaning to "Made in USA". |

Even if it means admitting women can't be responsible for anything that happens in their lives. The big bad world was so much safer when the only thing in it was a kitchen huh? |

You are so very very wrong in all aspects! And if you believe in Rape of Minors,i feel nothing for you!! As you see i Quote nobody on this issue now and only give my view and remedy!! Luck be with you in Life! I never said I believe in "Rape of Minors". I said people (females are people too, in case you didn't know.) should be responsible for their actions, and bear the consequences of their own bad choices. Possession of a uterus is NOT a free pass in life for the vast majority of it's inhabitants. |
