In the last almost 21 years of my life. I have been told I'm way too nice and respectful by almost every single girl I have met. I dont get it. They all have told me indirectly or even directly that they prefer men who are more like the "jerk" type. I dont get why its like that. And I know there are other guys out there who are in the same position as me but this is one question that always confuses me. Why is it that men with worse attitude towards females makes them wanna stay with guys like that? While guys like me who keep a positive, polite, and respectful behavior towards females are the ones left alone at the end. Im not willing to change myself for anyone because it is who I am. Neither am I gonna bring myself to the level of men who society calls "jerks"...Im not a smoker and a very occasional drinker. Not into gambling or any crap like that. So this puzzles me. But at the end of the day my question to females on here is simple...WHY ? Why do women prefer guys like that?.... And all the males on here feel free to join in with your opinions as well. Mate, you're twenty years old. That's pretty young to be already complaining that women have been prefering jerks to you for all of your life. Guess what? Girls your age tend to be into partying and you're making yourself sound like some sort of choirboy. What do you expect? I've got a friend that has a daughter your age and I've met her boyfriend. Sure, he smokes and drinks and I heard that they argue sometimes but he seems like a nice enough guy to me and I know her mother and no way would she let any guy mistreat that girl.

The poster above is right. They are just letting you down gently when they tell you that you're a nice guy but they're not into you. Were you popular at school, or just a polite kid that got on with his schoolwork? Do you pursue women, or are you just respectful towards them? You're twenty and already saying that you know who you are and you're not changing for anybody. You sound like my father and he's seventy years old.

There is more to being in a relationship than being nice. If all any woman wanted was a ****ing nice guy, no one would be alone and dating sites would disappear, not needed. I want a guy who has the capacity to be nice, by my definition, not his, but I also want him to have other qualities, none of which it's necessary to list here, since I'm not here to date anyone.

If all you have to offer a woman is your sense of yourself as a "nice guy" you need to reevaluate yourself and your conception of what a relationship is. I can get nice anywhere, seriously, I want more, dammit.

Maybe the secret is to be a total jerk toward everyone EXCEPT the woman you are after. And make sure she is aware of the fact you are only nice toward her. How special she will feel!
