Topic: Pagan Energy Raising Threads?

Hey y'all,

The following is a question I sent to Mike and he replied he saw no problem with it. I now pass it on to you all. Comments, concerns, and/or general discussion obviously are welcome from everyone of all religions regarding this.

"You know how people start prayer chains or request prayers? Here's what I'm wondering. If a Pagan member wants to build energy for something they're working on, can they do this with other Pagan members in a thread? Wiccan members, in particular, have a creed that they follow which basically states, "harming none and for the good of all".

I may be a bit odd in my thinking that there really isn't much difference between a Wiccan spell and a religious prayer. A Wiccan may chant the same thing over and over to raise the energy just as a prayer may be repeated over and over by one of a different religion. I believe the members could do the same thing through email with each other, but it would have a much easier flow if we did this in a thread. I have no clue whether other members even wish to do such a thing."

Well, I'm sure it works the same way since energy doesn't know time or room.
Most important in any event would be that the people doing it believe in what they are doing.

I am not wiccan, I am druid however, my spells or meditation is the same to me as a Christian's prayers would be to them. I think you could raise energy by sharing this thread... The Gods know our intent. It is the Pure Intention of the Heart that matters.

Oh My Familiar

Oh my familiar why do you purr?
Your my favorite cat; Not a curr.
On my lap you always can hop.
Would I ever tell you to stop?
Louder your motor does hum.
Stop my knitting to have fun?
Your tail curling in my face.
Trying to make me lose my place?
I feel your claws always to dig.
What makes you think you're big?
Your eyes glow so pretty at night.
Will you come to the candlelight?
Here we are alone, again; So similar.
Who is my friend; Oh my familiar?

Hey Wench-

I will join in any prayers or thoughts, collections of energy etc that seek to bring about positive results... and I would reject or abstain from any that sought to bring about harm... regardless of the name of god used in the invocation- all names are as likely and valid as any other imo...

And because wiccans pledge to harm none I would be happy to lend support to your prayers... at my church we end prayers with "Blessed be, amen, and so be it" and we celebrate all the ceremonies and holidays... flowerforyou

So far we're all pretty much of the same opinion. Walker, thank you for allowing me to be me and for sharing your honest opinion.

I used Wiccan as an example, as that is the one I'm most familiar with. Witta is pretty similar to Wicca. Odonists, for instance, I have no clue if energy raising would be the same there or not. I would be interested to find out, which may be a trip on line or somewhere else if nobody pops in here to educate me.

Mostly, I started this just to let other members know it is an available option to them if so desired.

different
that is the beauty of being free
we can choose anything that fullfils our needs
whether prayers or wicca or witta (i don't know)

I do agree with you Walker. I also find it is time to educate myself and others to maintain that freedom too; but that's another thread.

Well, no sacrificing animals and no dancing around naked. (Ok too much Terry Pratchett books for me) lol.

Seriously tho, if you feel it will make whatever better, than do it flowerforyou

Hey, if we were meant to be naked, we would have been born that way...

I don't see a problem with positive energy or uplifting prayers.

Well then, let's raise some energy! Say a prayer for the person who cut you off in traffic today. Think a happy thought for somebody you don't like. Plant a tree, feed a hungry child, build a home or just thank the wind for blowing! If you are interested, act. It doesn't have to be here, or anywhere-but let the love flow (too cliché?) laugh
