Barbie, I never said Peyton deserved the Heisman in 97. Unlike a lot of people here, I thought his bad game against Vandy that year(120 total passing yards), and the fact he never beat Florida worked against him. That being said, Charles Woodson(the winner in 97)had to be the most undeserveng winner since Tim Brown of Notre Dame. Personally, I thought Randy Moss(Marshall) should have won that year.

I base my whiner Eli comment on the fact he committed the unpardonable sin--when drafted by San Diego, he refused to go there, demanding a trade. I hated it when John Elway did it, and I've never liked it when players refuse to go where they're drafted. Even Brett Farve went to the Falcons when drafted, even tho they were a bad team.

Favre never won anything with out Reggie White and never will. Go Raiders!!

Man! i find myself in the unusual position of defending Farve. My discussion has nothing to do with "percieved" talent coming out of college. Even I can't deny that Farve's has a great pro career. I'm talking about these whiny prima-donnas like John Elway and Eli Manning who come out of college and refuse to play for the teams that draft them. They knew the rules. they chose to whine because they were being babies about who they wanted to play for. I said earlier: at least Farve went to Atlanta, who by and large has always been a lousy team. They were stupid enough to trade him to Green Bay.

As far as Farve "being nothing" out of college, he was drafted by Atlanta in the SECOND round. No one in his right mind(except Detroit G.M. Matt Millan, and there's some debate about his "right mind")would waste a second round pick on a player they thought wouldn't amount to anything. Don't get me wrong--I'm not jumping on the Farve bandwagon. But I don't hate him. And even those who do hate him HAVE to admit he's had pretty much a Hall of Fame career.
