For that one person to text back, then your phone goes off, and it's someone else.

I feel your pain. I'm the same way about emails, you get a new email notification and it's from someone else. Ugh..

thank goodness those days are behind me,,lol

I no longer 'wait all day' for anyone or anything

life is too short, I Have too many responsibilities to handle, if you give me a time I will be there then, but I don't get put on indefinite hold for anyone

if they don't have a time, THEY just have to take the chance on whether I will be around when they call

Unless there is some kind of emergency, such a response is, IMHO, a bit immature.

Probably not be very nice to the person that did call, as you go from an absolute high (anticipation) to an absolute low (disappointment) when something like that happens.

Stupid thing is, normally you learn from mistakes, right? But I don't think us women ever learn this particular one and we will end up waiting for that one phone call time and again throughout life.
Now are we just plain stupid or hopelessly optimistic?

As is anything male for that matter, so don't feel dejected. It's what Earthlings call "rhetorical question".

Very interesting... I think most guys say "I'll call you later" in a general sense? We can't imagine someone waiting by the phone for our call? But if we say "call you at 2pm" and we make the call at 7pm... That person has every right to be pizzed off IMO.
