Topic: Travelling Alone | |

A couple of years ago I got the travel bug and couldn't find anyone to go with. I went to the Dominican alone, although I met my travel agent and hung out with him for a couple of days. I decided however that travelling alone wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be. I decided to go to NYC next and this time (alone again) signed up for a couple of massage courses. I do massage and reiki for a living and spent four days being massaged and expanding my repertoire of healing skills, as well as meeting some locals and doing some things that were not touristy. If I travel again alone I will do it again. It's a great way to see new places and learn new things too!
I also arranged on the NYC trip to meet a couple of men that I knew from the States through dating sites (I'd talked to both of them for years and previously met one of them in Toronto). I had dinner with both of them. As long as you do it with safety in mind (meeting in a public place etc) then it's a great way to travel without being alone! |

I travelled south twice alone. I looked at it as a rebirth of my old adventurous self!
I joined a tour and Made wonderful new friends that I wouldnt have met otherwise. I went places that not many people can say they've been. I want to go somewhere different next time but I would like to go with a good friend next time... In my case, most of my friends are married friends. Sucks ;) |

Some time ago I went alone to a travel too. I met there (in Paris) some friends of mine that I had chance to know on a certain famous social network.
Traveling alone in my opinion can be fun or curious but only for few times because there's the chance that you can be really alone and loneliness is very a suffer. I'm glad you had fun, I did too but I hope to start my voyage with someone next time. |

I went to Fiji for a week by myself once and it was so peaceful. It was more like a spiritual journey for me. The SCUBA diving was the best that I have ever done as well! I highly recommend it!

I've been travelling alone for the past 10 years. Some of the most amazing places I went to alone were Uganda, Bosnia, Egypt, Indonesia, Lao, Cambodia, and Jordan. All of those places (plus many more) were life changing events and I don't think I would have learned as much as I did if I was travelling with someone.
I miss the feeling of being alone and yet surrounded by so many people... |

Ever since I travel, and I just traveled all by myself and I think it was fun cause I have my own time, own choice..... I challenged myself to the things I thought I can't do..

Hi
|

|
I was in Hongkong last February 2014 - went there alone. It's my first time to be in another country. It was fun and gave me the thrill to talk to strangers asking for directions. It's not only an exploration of the place that I made but also an exploration of myself - a self discovery that I can really travel without a companion and enjoy it!

I travel due to work. Sometimes it gets lonely. But meeting new faces & trying new cultural experiences are by far the best highlights of my trip.
