Had mingel2 for nearly a week I have hinted interest with people but had no response, any reasons why?

When you say "hints" do you mean nudges? If so stay away from those! Haha! Read the profiles and greet the ladies respectfully, comment or ask questions about what you read about them. Also dont be so eager to chat with them off of mingle. Just feels more secure chatting on here and its best for all until you get to know someone. Best wishes!

"Hinting"? What does that mean? Nudges? I don't really look at those, just delete them every once and a while.

I feel your profile is still somewhat stale. It feels as if you just summarized a few things and that's it. Has no feel or appeal to it. Try to personalize it, get some zest in it, and also what you're looking for in a partner.

The pictures: it's never really smart to post pictures with others in them. We can't tell which one is you. Plus, others might not be too happy to have their faces on a dating-site. I know I wouldn't be chuffed about that!
And at least one picture of your face without sunglasses and are smiling
