I would think not to most men in your age group.

Its not something that I'm looking for personally,
but there are a lot of variables, some situations
are not for me again.
Some woman may be looking for the man for other
reasons more that the one they truly love.
Never completely say never!

does mentioning you are a single mom scare guys off or is it a good thing to tell them first thing on your profile?

Every guy is different. I know I would date a single mom. :)

her being a single mom I dont think would be a dealbreaker for me.

if she was forsaking her child for me or wasn't a good mother: dealbreaker.

I grew up with plenty of brothers and neices and nephews so kids don't scare me, I just hope to make a good impression.

Also it helps for the guy to know early on that MOST of her attention will be focused on the child, so he should check his selfishness at the door if he's looking to court her. It's a package deal.

He has to be willing to be put second in her life, because reasonably i dont know any mothers that would be so desperate for male attention at the sake of abandoning her offspring.

Anyway, thats my two cents. Good luck with your search.

I'm assuming that's the childs father in your pictures?

I'd change this up a little

"Her father is not in the picture at the moment. I am looking for a friend who will listen to me and likes kids."

I've dated women with children... Kids aren't the problem
The breakups are brutal for him if he gets attached to your kids
I'd have a hard time getting the relationship going to be honest... but only cause I've been there... twice!

Good luck flowerforyou
the man in the picture is my brother her uncle. Her father has said that he wants custody but has taken no legal action to try and get custody of her. They have met once and he has not visited in 6 months

My apologies, I know your lil one is the joy of your life... I'd remove the baby pictures, add more of your pictures and just a mention of being a single mother in your profile.

As far as father wanting custody? I've seen it before, lots of hot air... still, cover your bases would be my advice flowerforyou

That wouldn't scare me off.

Now, if you had pet spiders, that might not work for me.

Being a mother is a beautiful thing.! If a guy don't appreciate the honesty in that, then he won't appreciate u. So be yourself!

I have a friend who had no kids of his own and he always seem to wound up dating a woman with 2 or more kids. It's always best to be honest on your profile. At least it lets a guy knows what he's getting himself into. I personally prefer to deal with a woman who has no kids, but I'm not going to close myself to a woman who has kids. Also, there is a difference between a woman who has children that are already adults and out of the house and a woman who has.....kids that are young and still at home. You might want to indicate which one you are.

you dont have to tell them straight off depends how you feel let your personality shine through first then when the times right just be honest no shame in being a single mum

Why should she hide the fact that she has children? You're saying she should't be ashamed of her kids, but you're telling her not to admit she has them.....I don't see the point of misleading someone with that sort of information; good personality or not, you shouldn't lie about something like that.
