As a former atheist, I can now say the Holy Spirit guides me and miracles really do happen. So much of the original bible has been lost from the variances in the translations. Many times one language will have a completely different definition for a word or no word for a written word. When I read the bible I ask the Holy Spirit guide me to the truth as I read it. I can say that I feel more power when I open my bible than when I read it on my phone. There is definitely power in the bible. I have never opened up a book that I could actually feel life come out of it. Before I accepted Jesus as my Saviour, it was just a boring long book. Now....well it is very hard to explain, but I can feel it especially in between the lines.

I ;like your thinking.. Its so true. It does come alive. in ways you could never of amagined sometimes. like you are stressed and u just open up the book and like the exact words you need to hear was what u read.. like WOW. hard to understand sometimes. I know where you are coming from.. Blessings of Shalom

Num 6:22-27

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 23 "Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:

24 "The LORD bless you and keep you;
25 The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace."'

27 "So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them."

On a side note;
When I was young I said to myself, "I'd rather have Him and not need Him than need Him and not have Him".

My sentiments exactly!!!:thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

"To fear The Lord is the beginning of wisdom..."

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

lol, sounds like a liberal argument... start the name calling when someone doesn't want to agree with you.... only fools despise wisdom and instruction? it depends on the wisdom and instruction that is being applied... believing in a myth is not wisdom, and while the bible has some good instruction, i'm not really into scare tactics, they don't work well with me... if i'med doomed to hell for not believing, but still live a good life, then so be it...

Your not doomed to hell for living a good life. That was not a concept except mainly in Paganism.

Dante's Inferno the play struck the preachers as see what will happen if you do not believe. Religion loves to use fear but fear according to the bible is for those who do wrong in their life and do not care. they enjoy it.

Fear is a strong motivator and millions if not billions of people hear all you have to do is " Just Believe" say the sinners prayer. where's the sinners prayer in the bible?

Just believe go to church contribute as much as you can and make some friends. Better than the country club. Believers are not those who Just Believe they live the word.

Scripture says the whole world if it was possible do not believe. 144,000 is all that is said as the real believers on the earth.

Yet Yahweh does not condemn people like that that try to do good. Yahshua did not condemn the woman who got caught committing adultery.

Why would Yahweh condemn who he has given all Power now to Yahshua in Heaven and earth as Judge. Yet his judgment is MERCY.

We see here you are judged by your works? wheres Just believe?

Rev 20:11-15

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
NKJV

Everything is recorded. Their are degrees of sin and we have a list in Peter I believe who will be judged harshly and we very well would also. as our laws judge harshly for evil people and we all see evil people or hear of them constantly.

Most would agree they deserve death. Yahweh is no different. Only you and Him knows your Heart and Mind. Just never deny what u truly believe. People have always believed differently and they always will.

I would hope that we would believe a persons word. If he says he was an Athiests what makes you think he could not research the scriptures and find a very new exciting way of life. That's what he is speaking of is a better way of life IMO he has now. People leave believing the Bible and oh they finally seen the light. Yet someone says they found the Holy Spirit or I would say more like his heart the Holy Spirit found. Double standards like poor thing. I could say the same thing about u. POOR THING

Yes! We can believe what the Bible says.
The U.S built a robot that travelled 8months & half to the Mars. Successfully, the robot landed and start destroying the Mars until it gets to a place where 10 commandment were written & John 3: 16 were written in 12 different languages on a tablet stone in the Mars. Who wrote the Bible quotes on the tablet stone in the Mars?

If that were true it would have been all over the news or at least all over the Internet.

The ten commandments on Mars? Show me the proof.

That story was a Hoax. Don't be so quick to believe hoaxes. Oh yeh, you believe the Bible too. That too is a huge hoax.

Ten commandments on Mar hoax.

Circulating messages claim that NASA has found a message from God on Mars while looking for water, and that it proves the existence of God. It is not a fact.

The source of all these messages is an article published in The Daily Currant website, which is basically an online newspaper that publishes satirical stories. Although they mean to address real-world issues through satire, all their stories are purely fictional. The satirical publication is interesting though, as you can read the whole article below, it is based on NASA's landing of Curiosity Rover last year in August 2012 and perhaps the obsession of religion among people.

Why is it funny? Are you implying that I post known hoaxes? I don't post known hoaxes. I have posted some wild speculations and crazy opinions, and links to nutty stuff, including my own, but I do that to liven up the conversations on this club. It gets incredibly boring here sometimes.

I see nothing wrong with considering all information.

Information = reality = truth.

I sometimes do sort what I think is true from what I think is not true. The ten commandments being found on mars, I placed into my
"not true" pile.

Then, I googled and found the information about the hoax and where it actually came from.

Now EVEN IF the ten commandments had been found on Mars, how would that "prove the existence of God?"

It wouldn't.

Lets assume they were found on Mars. How would a rational atheist or scientist explain it? Here are some options.

1. They would deny it, or cover it up.
2. If they could not do that, they would make up a story about how they planted them there as a joke.
3. If that was not possible, they would claim that ancient civilization or aliens left it there.

Also, as cited earlier, there is only one mention of carved stones referred to as the
Ten Commandments in the Bible- Ex. 34- not the ones Charleton Heston brought down from a mountain. As my old theology professor used to say- people who respect the Bible, never actually read it.

My answer was for you. To have been so brainwashed that he believes an ape may be his great grandfather. Science at its best. Then they say of yea we have a Missing linklaugh

Believing in something that is the most revered book over time. People have seen miracles since time began. They do not attribute miracles to Aliens or Apes. That's just funny.

Even if all u say is true their had to be a creator of all things the stars in heaven and the planets he inspired.

So which came 1st the chicken or the Egg? Scientists still considering this one. Why?

They have been told u do not have free will you can not believe in a creator and be a scientists yet our most famous ones used the Scriptures to guide them to what they were seeking,. For our Good.

Atheists are no dumbies. just some listen when others refuse to look beyond their experimental box

I agree. any believer and seems to have some influence would be going against the scriptures to say they were on Mars. For that to be true then their was people at one time on mars and Yahweh destroyed his whole creation. Like to see what they claim scriptures would even hint of a sort of thing.

The Book of the Law was also given to Moses the Ten Commandments just encompass all the other laws. they are all related to the 10 commandments. But the 613 laws that NT believers say are so bad. not sure about that number. Yet talking about laws. the NT has over 1000
laws. but all still related to the Ten Commandments. yes if you believe in eternal life then you would think you would want to learn all about the Scriptures instead of a 20 minute sermon 1 time a week. Focusing on like 3 verses. Now that's a Real Learning experience

Who told them that they can't be theist and scientists?Francis Collins is a theist and is the director of the NIH.
Yeah scientist in the past were theist sometimes by choice and sometimes because they didn't want to die because they would've been labeled a heretic.
Theism is mostly for the afterlife.People don't accept when you're dead you're dead.They want to believe there's life after death.Again there's really a lack of physical proof for that also(Miles starts posting bible scripture as evidence).
Science works and tries to solve what's in the natural world not the supernatural realm.

Let me get this right. You are on a Religion forumn and you do not like using religious scriptures? sounds like a oxymoron to me.

Let go to the science forumn and say oh that's not fair you use Isaac Newton for references. That's not fair. Yea Right.
do
Grow up.. Why are you on here if you not want to learn? ( to disrupt, try and pull away weak believers) That's why you will not say much to me. Its easier to find a lamb just born than his older sibling. Science even says knowledge is key. I wonder where they got that from. huh?

The scriptures says when u die you die and the breath that brought you alive into this world leaves when you are taken from this world. The Bible says that. Did science borrow it?

The Holy Spirit goes back to where it came from. Your spirit is your breath that enables you to live. no air no life.

Your key point you mentioned is.... drum roll

Science works and tries to solve what's in the natural world not the supernatural realm.

Yes this is true and good and comes from Yahweh.. all Good comes from Yahweh but satan uses it also. Like the science of Phycology. This is the science that is destroying the world and everyone is told they are a VICTOM!!!!

This is bad science not the one who tries and make things better for us instead of trying to rule us.. Big Difference. Prophecy abounds about Phycology.

could right a book about how satan is taking over the world with the New Witch of old

Uh,i'm not the one on here plastering bible verses so how am i trying to convert anyone?This is a general religion not a christian forum and all i see is xian verses plastered on every thread.So who is actually trying to spam bible verses and subliminally passive aggressively reassuring people that they're not alone in believing abrahamic mythology is true?Not me i'm just giving my opinion on how i see religion.
